you would need your fridge defrost sensor replace, check for ice build up within the vents of fridge section, best to a tec to come and replace it for you,you would need the sensor to be reset on your fridge computer board cheers
Make sure that if it has a "colder" knob in the freezer section that it is not set all the way over to coldest. This blocks all cold air entering the lower compartment when set this way. It actually has been eliminated on some models.
Also you may have ice buildup in the stack assembly that feeds the lower compartment or even a frozen upper compartment behind the back panel of the freezer limiting air flow to the lower compartment. Make sure to unplug unit if service is necessary in these areas. I hope this is helpful.
Your problems are exactally the same as mine. I have taken the freezer back panels off and fornd the elements blocked with ice, the upper and lower channels to the fridge are blocked with ice and obviously therefore no0 cold air is going the fridge, I have de-frosted the freezer and put back together and everything works great for 2 weeks when the same thing accurs. My settings for both fridge and freezer are on the lowest possible, but the wife does fill the freezer with too much food! I guess I need an expert in!!
I had the same problem; the top fridge compartment was warming up to 14C while the freezer compartment was starting to defrost (frozen stuff was starting to become soft. I took the rear wall off the freezer compartment and found it all iced up. I defrosted it with a blower heater then powered it back up. It all worked fine for a month when the same thing happened. I figured that the defrost cycle wasn't working. I located the defrost timer on the rear right-side of the fridge. I rotated it several times and found that the fridge was turning on and off. I rotated it until the fridge turned off. I waited 5 minutes then stuck my head into the freezer compartment and felt the rear wall at the bottom where he drain is; it felt warm so I guessed the defrost heater element was ok. I ordered a defrost timer and installed it. I haven't had a problem since.
possible ice build-up behind the inside rear panel. you have to remoive panel defrost ice with hair dryer then replace the heater/defrost cable. the job cost around 125. for an appliance tech to fix it hope this helps...
2 places filter can be top left upper corner of fridge or behind the fridge with a little longer filter type
the smell could be the filter but i would pull all drawers and shelves and i would check for mold also the possibility of water leak behind panel of water spout that has molded over this smell you could never forget cause smells like old gym socks
