If u have heat and no steam its prolly plugged with salt/calcium deposits, putting white vinager in the water chamber might clear the clog

  • Anonymous May 25, 2011

no, this is for a commercial steamer not an iron. I need to know how much vinegar if this is the solution

  • Anonymous May 27, 2011

use straight white vinegar and heat it like you would with water in it, if you have a salt/calcium build up this might clear it. pins to clear the holes too might get the steam started but use the vinegar

My handheld Conair garment steamer is heating up but not producing steam. How do I fix this?

A handheld steamer uses hot steam to relax the fibers in clothing. A jet of steam is directed at the cloth suspended on a hanger. A steam wand at the end of a hose is held a short distance from the cloth - providing a smooth look without the application of scorching heat to the clothing.Steamers are ideal for soft and delicate fabrics like silk, satin, polyester and jersey. Because a garment steamer does not actually touch clothing - there is little

My rowenta steamer is not producing steam but tubing getting hot when I turn on steamer. Suggestions?

see this causes and fix it. God bless you

If the iron heats but steams improperly, inspect the soleplate and clean the vents (see below) and flush sediment out of the steam chamber .

If the iron produces too much or too little heat, test the electrical cord . Also test and, if needed, adjust calibration of the thermostat .

If the iron does not spray properly, inspect and clean the nozzle.

If the iron leaks or spits, clean the steam vents, nozzle, and tank.

If the iron sticks to fabric, clean or repair the soleplate. If the iron stains fabric, clean the soleplate, clean the tank with a commercial cleaner, and use distilled or filtered water.

Hand steamer conair GS15R will not produce steam. It is on, it is full of water, the body gets warm, and it makes noises like it is steaming but nothing comes out.

Hi.

The iron steam lines may be clogged with limescale.

Try first using descaling solution to clean the lines.
Do descaling several times.

If that does not work, then the thermostat may have started malfunctioning and cutting off earlier than normal. This will cause water not getting enough temperature, and iron not steaming.

Try using a descaler product, often that can fix the problem.

CGS11DR CONAIR GARMENT STEAMER

Have you checked the float?
Sometimes that gets stuck, or collects mineral and stays in the last position.

When using steam iron i am left with a puddle of water on the floor how do i control the amount of steam

I think is maybe the hose connections. You need to make sure both ends (by the T-nozzle and by the body of the steamer) are secure. You have to align the nozzle with the rod, and push down, and twist. Try watching instructions for connecting both ends on www.HandBookLive.com under appliances category. There are GS4 video instructions and GS10 (this one has just been posted yesterday)
hoe it helps. Otherwise I would return the steamer. Nowhere in the operating instructions does it say that you can control the amount of stream produced...
