Make sure there are no leaks in the bulb. Did you reattach the fuel lijnes correctly? You should feel resistance after pushing 3 or 4 times to ensure fuel is getting to the carb. If necessary replace the bulb. Otherwise check with Mantis at www.mantis.com or give them a call for troubleshooting assistance.

Mantis tiller won't start after installing new fuel bulb

Troubleshooting:

Airlock in the fuel system: If the fuel bulb is not primed correctly, it can cause an airlock in the fuel system, which can prevent the engine from starting. Try priming the fuel bulb again and see if it helps.

Clogged carburetor: A clogged carburetor can also prevent the engine from starting. You can try cleaning the carburetor with a carburetor cleaner.

Faulty spark plug: A faulty spark plug can also cause starting problems. Check the spark plug and replace it if necessary.

Fuel quality: Poor quality fuel can also cause starting problems. Make sure you are using fresh, clean fuel.

Just bought a carb kit. Which way does the diaphragm go in ? Also, the primer bulb won't show gas.

if the primer bulb cannot pick up fuel and the fuel lines are good then you have a bad primer plate and you need a new carb

Vapor lock on Mantis

check the fuel lines for a breakage or the primer bulb for a crack. Sounds like it is sucking air instead of fuel

Mantis Tiller

check the fuek lines for hole and leaks, check the fuel filter and clean if necessary. remove the carbuerator and inspect the gasket; it should be soft and flexible, if it seems hard or brittle replace it. clean the carb with carb cleaner sray (available at any local auto parts store) and compressed air. make sure you get inside the small fuel rail holes. check the primer bulb for pin holes and seating/sealed properly. if that doesn't work have the carb repaired at a service center or replaced.
