How do I change to clutch on this blender. The outside of the clutch broke off leaving just the screw head on the blender, when I turn to unscrew it, the entire piece just spins, any suggestions.

Remove 3 screws on the bottom of the blender
Pull off cover
Use a screwdriver to keep the motor's shaft from spinning
On the other side, use a wrench, grab and unscrew the brass ring in a clockwise motion (It's reverse threaded)
Screw on new replacement blade driver (Counter-clockwise to tighten)
Put blender cover back on
Reinstall the 3 screws on the bottom of the blender
You're done!

I'm serious when I say that the whole process took me about 3 minutes.

You can probably use a Vise-grip pliers to clamp down on the brass insert and unscrew it. Not only is it on very hard, but it is also threaded reverse of a normal screw. This is so it does not come undone in normal operation.

You have to turn it counter-clockwise to unscrew it (a regular screw turns clockwise).

I had to clamp the motor shaft real tight with a bench vise to be able to remove the clutch. Hope this helps.

Krups blender switch lights, but motor doesn't turn

Hi I take it that the bottom was not screwed tight when the milk spilled. Try unscrewing the bottom, take it apart and clean it in warm water and mild washing liquid . Put it together again and screw tightly. And off it should go.

Can't unscrew drive socket on vitamin super 5000 yo replace it

The hex wrench only fits in one position, there is a groove in the lip in the top housing and you need to turn the coupling until the hex screw head lines up. The groove is normally plugged with a dob of white silicone. The hex screw is not tightened fully tight on reassembly, the coupling needs a bit of slop.

How do i replace clutch in base of blender

here is a solution that worked for me (see below)....to get the clutch out I used a flat-head screw driver in the bottom of the base to hold the cooling fan and then screwed the clutch out with a clockwise turn. I have yet to order a new clutch ($2.70) at http://www.ereplacementparts.com/waring-bb180blender-parts-c-120019_120020_130537.html but the removal works. Good luck.

Hello
There are two type of fittings for this gear. In some models it will be push in type, and for others it will be screw type. If your model has push type one, just pull out it from the shaft. You may have to excert a strong force to pull it out. If it is screw type, you have to open its lower lid by unscrewing its secrews, hold the cooling fan and hold the gear at the top, twist it in 'CLOCKWAYS' direction, [not counterclockwise], to screw it out. OK.

How to change clutch in Hamilton Beach blenders

You need a screwdriver and soft hummer. Secure the screwdriver on one teeth of the cluch and lower the screwdriver to have un angle of around 60 degrees. Now you hit a little fast the scredriver with the hummer in order to unlock and unscrew the clutch. Then it will be easy to unscrew with your fingers. This is a litle bit triky so you may need to try some times in order achieve it.
Please remeber that you it unscrew reverse than it rotates.
The new one need only to screw in place and it will lock by itself as soon as you will use the blender.
Good Luck

Replacing rubber drive coupling

My coupler was split in two, and I couldn't screw it off. I had to do the following:
1. Take the blender apart (mine had 2 screws on the bottom). 2. Remove the motor housing from the blender (mine was loose from removing the two screws earlier). 3. Remove the fan by removing the fan nut. 4. Take apart the motor housing. Mine had two machine screws with 1/4" hex heads holding a bracket that tied the two ends together. Once those two screws are removed, you can take the motor out of the housing. Be careful on the fan end of the motor, because it's got two spring loaded brushes that will come together once the motor is pulled through. 6. Once you have the motor out of the housing, you'll have something to grab onto so you'll be able to unscrew the broken coupler. I used a pair of channel locks and gently grasped the motor body, and then just used a regular pair of pliers to grab the broken coupler. It's regular thread (lefty lucy righty tighty), so twist accordingly.
Once you have the coupler off, just put everything back together. The hardest part is holding apart the spring loaded brushes while you push the fan end of the motor shaft back through the motor housing.
Took me about 20 minutes to do everything.
Good luck.

Cusinert blender

I had the same problem and I manaed to fix my Cuisinart SmartPower Duet blender. There are two thermal fuses, one tape attached to each stator winding. Both of mine were blown.

In addition, when the fuses blew, it must have spiked the triac. I had to replace mine. It's the black 3-legged transistor looking device with a small metal heatsink attached to it. This gizmo directly throttles the power to the motor under control of the microprocessor. There are some guides on the internet on how to test it.

Also, the clutch was very hard to remove and needs to be removed to more easily replace the thermal fuses. I clamped down the end of the motor shaft to a bench vise real hard and then I used a 7/8-inch open-end wrench to wedge into the clutch prongs which made it much easier to apply torque. Remember that its screw threads are reversed from normal screws so that it does not unscrew during operation. You have to turn it counter-clockwise to unthread it.

Hope that helps!

Top part of base broke off

This just happened to me too, and I think I just fixed it.  First you have to get a replacement part called the "blender coupling" (I got mine online from Goodmans for $3.99).  I also replaced the square drive and slinger (two parts come together for $2.99)-that's the little part that sticks up and attaches to the pitcher.
Unscrew the bottom four screws of the base where the rubber feet are.  Remove the rubber skirt to reveal four screws that hold the motor in.  They are way in there so you'll need a long screw driver.  Remove the motor and unscrew the old coupling.  Mine had not been replaced since my grandmother bought this blender who knows when, so the coupling was really stuck.  I did not have a tool narrow enough to get a good grip to apply enough torque to remove the coupling so I had to try a few other tricks.  If your blender is the same, remove the bottom nut, fan blade and two washers.  This gave enough of a rod to grip to get the old coupling off.  (I also had to use some WD40, and heat and cool the coupling a few times to break the old seal).
Good luck!  Hope that helps!

How to replace the rubber drive in Krups 572?

it's not easy. you will need a set of pliers, a flathead screwdriver, and a phillips screwdriver. first, remove the 4 rubber plugs from the bottom of the blender (just work them out with your fingers). second, use the phillips screwdriver to unscrew the 4 screws that were under the ruber plugs. the blender should come apart. right in the bottom center on the inside of the blender you should see a steel rod with a groove in it. this rod will run all the way to the top and be connected to the rubber gear drive on top. get a firm grip on the rubber gear drive with your pliers. place the flathead screwdriver into the groove of the steel rod and unscrew. it will be very tight, but eventually, it will give. you will most likely destroy the old rubber gear drive in the process, but the idea is to replace that one anyway. good luck!

Replace clutch assembly Waring BB150 Blender

Remove the little rubber feed on the bottom of the base (they might be glued a bit so be careful not to rip them). This will reveal 4 phillips head screws...remove them...this will open the base and reveal the back site of the rotor. In the middle you will see a turban blade like wheel with a large flat tip screw. Wedge a large screwdriver between the teeth of the old clutch so that when you turn the flat tip screw it will stop rotating the other end. Turn the screw with some force to the right to losen the clutch...then do the reverse to get the new one on tight...put everything back together and there you have it.

Keep in mind that this might void your warrenty if you still have some on it.
