Check your drive belt which is located around the outside of the drum. The "hummmm" you hear sounds like the motor running. Normaly this motor provides the power to the belt which surrounds the outer surface of the drum (where u put the cloths)........ the belt wraps around the outside of the drum, then around a small pully mounted on the shaft of an electrical motor normally located just below the drum on the inside of the outer enclosure. This motor will be mounted to the the dryer's frame by a mounting plate. This motor mounting plate will pivot (like a hinge)..... it will also have an extension spring hooked to it which provides tension to the drive belt when properly looped around the pulley on the drive motor. When the belt breaks or snaps....... the drum stops spinning..... however the drive motor still runs. Thats the noise you hear! Diss-assemble outer sheet metal providing access to drive belt and replace with correct belt recommended for your model dryer. Caution should be used during repair........ ALWAYS UNPLUG POWER CORD PRIOR TO SERVICING ALL/ANY APPLIANCE's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello Jennifer Christie, thank you for your post!
I see that you have replaced the belt and bearing drum in your Frigidaire dryer but the unit does not start. It sounds like you could be experiencing an issue within the motor or timer. I would recommend having a professional come out to properly diagnose and repair your appliance, to avoid any further unnecessary part purchases. I hope this is helpful. -Matt
