My a/c duo-therm model #57915331 was working w/ generator. I turned the generator off without turning the a/c off. I started the generator again and now it is not working. I checked the circuit breaker, turned it off/on, and it is still not working. I would like to know what could be wrong with it.

Didn't realize this was an RV AC. Look for your fuse panel which should be by your breaker panel and check all the fuses

Go to your heater and locate the circuit board inside. There is a 3 amp fuse that protects the board and it is a regular auto fuse and isn't made for any surges in the system. When you turned your generator on with the system on, chances are you surged the system and that fuse went. Breakers allow for surges where fuses don't

SOURCE: duo-therm quick cool

Your compressor is trying to restart after it shuts off which is causing a power draw down changing the sound of the fan speed change. Check voltage power supply and insure that the power supply cord is heavy enough to carry the necessary load.

I have a duo-therm A/C model 39045 and the fan and compressor won't shut off without turning the breaker off

Sounds like you have a bad switch. If the unit comes back on when you turn the breaker back on it surely is a bad switch.

Need electral requirements to size a generator for Duo-Therm A/C unit model 57915.531

A Duo-Therm 13.5BTU Brisk Air unit will pull 14 - 16 amps on average in High/Cool mode. Depending on the ambient temperature. Since the unit is 120VAC, then we know that the unit is going to need at least 1920Watts to run. There are other things in the unit that will affect the generator as well. TV's, Microwave and Converter all pull amperage on the generator. It is safe to say that if you are using a 4000Watt Generator, then you will be fine. If it is just for the AC and nothing else, then a 2500Watt generator is more than sufficient.

Thanks,

Jeff
