Tighten/adjust the belts and if overly worn CHANGE THEM. Only other problem I could suggest is a bearing in alternator or water pump is getting ready to calve.

2002 Jeep Wrangler Screeching Sound On Startup until Engine is warm.

NEVER NEVER USE BELT DRESSING. It's sticky and attracts grit that destroys your pulleys. Screeching is almost always caused by a worn belt tensioner. Read these posts

I have a screeching noise when I start my air conditioning.

It could be but how easy was the belt tensioner ? that may be the problem by not putting enough tension on the belt. How tight is the belt ?

1994 Chevy Suburban 5.7L V8 is making loud squealing/screeching noises when accelerating, only when foot on gas pedal, increasing with speed, and stopping before 20 mph. Initially the sound made me think...

This problem sounds more like your serpentine belt is loose or has become glazed. When you accelerate, the belt can't keep up with the torque of the flywheel pulley due to the drag of the accessories, resulting in a squealing and/or chirping of the belt as it slips on the pulley. This is amplified during turns due to the extra drag of a laboring power steering pump. Try going to your auto-parts store and picking up a bottle of belt dressing, about a buck a bottle. Apply this to your belt according to the instructions on the bottle. This should help your belt regain its "stickiness" if it is indeed glazed. If this doesn't solve your problem, a new belt may be in order. Hope this helps out. If the problem persists after a new belt, reply to this answer and we can dig a little deeper. Have a great day!

Whenever i first start my car and turn the wheel it make a schreechin sound and ssomtime when i turn it does it out of the blue but mostly after i start it

Go to the auto parts store and purchase a can of belt dressing. As them where to spray it, they will happily show you, and your screeching will stop. If it doesn't, you may need to look into purchasing a new power steering pump. Try the inexpensive route first (belt dressing), and I'm willing to bet it fixes the screeching.

Screeching sound when i push accelerator then stops when i push brake peddle.

Likely a slipping belt. Accelerator makes the engine spin faster, which can let the belt slip more. There's a spray product called "belt dressing" that might stop the slipping temporarily - at least long enough to see if that's the problem. Or, you might be able to inspect the belts - with the engine off - and see if one is noticeably loose.

My husband sprayed the belt of our 1998 dodge 1500 truck with prestone belt dressing and the sqeeking and shrieking eeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEE sound stopped also the battery started to charge again, but upon...

U must clean all that belt dressing off (use a product called Brake Clean) and then replace the belt, also make sure none of the pulleys have bad bearings and the automatic belt tensioner is working right, this will correct your noise. Belt dressing is NEVER to be used on serpintine belts like the one used in your truck.

My 1999 malibu screeches loud .

Is this screeching like a sqealing? It will be a belt problem, the belt is slipping on the pulley system you may be able to adjust tension or spray on some belt dressing but will most likely need to change the belt hope this helps you, good luck
