Anonymous Posted on May 04, 2011

Need to find a manual - new owner of a 2007 LTX 1000. I need to replace the blades and the belt. There are pins that have to drop and I have no idea. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, W/D here.
Use this link, and input your model number. This will then take you to exploded diagrams along with price lists and parts lists. A manual button will be on that page. It will be a free download.
Best regards, --W/D--

Hus mz5425 runs fine, but when you engage the blades or move into thick grass the mower slows down. blades are slow to get started and then it sounds like an aircraft that has lost power.

Check the tension of the deck belt. See owners manual

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/502723/Husqvarna-Mz5425s.html

If the engine has oil leaks from the valve covers or crank seals be sure the belt is dry. If oil.

If belt has burnished it may need replaced.

Contact mtd.com help desk. Tech help can get you to the right parts to make needed repair. Most likely it is your blade spindle assembly that has been bent allowing belt to slip. It is not that diifcult to replace.

I have a crftmans rider ltx 1000 , i was cutting the lawn picked up a cable which wraped itself arouf the mandrels for the blades and stopped the mower , got cable removed started right up no problem ,...

Yes, if you jammed something in the blades and the belt stopped, the engine pulley wore a thin spot in the belt.Every time that thin spot runs around a pulley it rides deeper in the pulley making it vibrate.Take the belt off and you should be able to see or feel the spot where the engine pulley burnt it. Replace the belt and it should fix it.

Installing blade belt

you have to raise the mower then drop the rear of the deck by removing the 2 pins on the blade adjustment lever.once you do that it should go pretty easy

Belt change

I usually jack up the front of the tractor and drop the deck as far down as it will go and have at it. You only have to remove a few belt guards and a rod or two and route the belt around the pulleys.Remember the v part of the belt goes in the v pulleys and the flat part of your new belt goes on the flat pulleys. And be sure to look at the diagram on the deck or in your manual.Hope this will help you. donnyb60
