Alesis Multimix 8 USB 8-Channel Mixer Spdif System Logo

Vista Home Premium fails to work correctly with 3rd party audio-ware, even though ALL audio product Vista drivers updated, and Vista OS software updated. Apparently the Vista audio problem is a common complaint with both manufactures and consumers. Anyway, I'm seriously thinking of replacing Vista with XP, as in the past I had no problems with XP audio tasks. My laptop specs: Dell XPS 1530 laptop; Vista Home Premium '32 bit'; - (w/updates). 200 GB HD; 3 Gb RAM; built-in Sigmatel audio. USB 2.0; Firewire; Tested audio products: - (all w/updates). XFi Extreme Audio; - (audio, but no 'stereo' mix option) EMU 1616; - (incompatible w/Express PCI card slot) Tascam 144 USB; - (crashes; browser/Cubase/Vista) Alesis USB 1.1; - (audio with USB, crashes; Cubase/Vista) Alesis USB 2.0; - (no-audio with USB, crashes Cubase/Vista) Cubase LE 4; - (audio glitches/fails with Vista OS.. not sure about XP)

Same here. I just built a new top-of-the-line PC for recording BUT Vista won't let me do what XP always did. :-(

No audio after i reformat from windows vista to windows xp3

You might have installed the wrong one or an outdated version. You can install a 3rd party software like RadarSync which can automate the driver detection and update mechanism. You don't need to look for the right driver or update manually because the software will do it.

Need a product key

If you already have the OS installed on the PC then you can use 3rd party software to find the istall key from the previous installation. One such piece of software is Winkeyfinder, it's free to download and you don't have to install it for it to work.
Once the software finds the license key then write it down ready for you to re-install the OS.

YOU CANNOT USE THE SAME INSTALL KEY ON MULTIPLE PC's OR YOU WILL GET A PIRATE MESSAGE.

I use a HP Pavilion dv6000 with Vista SP1. When I try to install the Vista SP2 I get every time the erro code 800B0100. I never found a solution to that

the most common cause of this is your firewall - you need to disable it whilst installing the update.
depending on the security software you have installed the options are different.
If you are using Windows Firewall: start, settings, control panel Security Center - click on firewall and set to off.
Important - remember to turn it back on afterwards.
If using 3rd party software turn the whole thing off whilst installing the update.
Please let me know if this works for you.

My both optical devices, Plextor Premium & LG super multi were working poperly until I have installed softwere called UNIBLUE, which have scanned updates for drivers. I have updated the drivers but...

I will suggest to you to not rely on a 3rd party software to update any drivers. Obtain the driver from the manufacture who produced the device (Your optical device). Any device produced as a peace of hard ware should provide driver support so there product will function properly. Again, do not go threw a 3rd party software to update any drivers. Example, "Advance System Care," This is a good software to use clean up tools like defrag ETC.. They also provide a separate software to update drivers. I had made the mistake with downloading and running the software. It just gave me a list of software problems. BLUE SCREEN OF *****. I hope this resolves your problem.

Not compatible in vista os

Try redownloading and installing the Audio drivers, Make sure that when you download them that they are the correct drivers for the Vista OS. Or, if you have a 3rd party sound card in your system, download the vista drivers for that card.

I'm not sure, but I think that you can use Realtek Audio Drivers for that board. So there's a good chance that you could just download the Realtek Audio drivers for Vista and it MAY work. Make sure to read the release notes on the driver before installing though as to not risk anything happening to your system.

My PC keeps getting stuck!

It could be that 1GB of Ram is not enough to run Vista, I had vista once on 1GB of RAM and the computer went so slow I couldn't work or do anything with it.
What I did was, format the computer (after backing up all the necessary data) and install Windows XP, its the best operation system until now, until Windows 7 Comes out!
Either Install Windows XP, or get your computer one more GB of RAM or more.

HP Pavilion dv6000 OS(s)

The product key on the label on the bottom of the laptop will only work for the version of Windows that was installed on that laptop.
You can purchase an upgrade Windows Vista Ultimate and to use in conjunction with the existing Vista Home Premium.
