How can I set up the m1 karaoke mic on my laptop for karaoke.

turn the mic on at the switch just under it

audio out on the karaoke to audio in AUX on the yamaha
make sure front panel control on stereo is set to AUX

Simply connect the mic-level output from your wireless mic receiver to the mic input on the karaoke system.

go to sound setting and change device and correct it

I have had the machine for 12 months and no problems but there is no power when i turn it on and the tv says no signal

The music to sing along with apparently MUST come from a disk played on the unit. It appears that the external audio jacks are just to use the unit as either a boombox or to drive a larger sound system. You will have to convert your IPOD music into a Karaoke compatible CD to be able to sing along with it... They probably detect MIC input and mute any incoming signals from the RCA jack inputs,

I would suggest you to use a headset (without mic) and play the karaoke for them so that they can listen the music through the headphone while they sing. Connect the mic on the mic plug on your computer and record the songs they are singing with rhythm of the karaoke using an audio editor like Audacity or Adobe Audition and similar softwares. Suppose if you play the karaoke on your speaker, then the music will be heard from the mic and it'll be mixed up with the songs he/she is singing. For best result, Record the sound/songs and save it as different file and mixdown the karaoke file with it later. Otherwise, you'll not be able to get good songs. Go into the Sound Manager, in there you often find the karaoke set on.. or the Mic disabled. If you haven't got a sound manager you need to DL & install from makers website. Often the Mic,must be setup for use the first time, and calibrated before it will work. Also check your manual.

check the manual. also go to their website for answers. look at the back of the machine and see if it does have a connection to hook it up to speakers. also, if you have a mic see if it has a on/off switch. you could have it in the off position and not on; also, check the machine to see if it has a knob to turn to mic.

Hi, got this info from philips customer service. Was desperately trying to get the karaoke function to work for 2 weeks! Plug in your microphone. Press "KARAOKE" button until you see "MIC OFF" text, and immediately press RIGHT button. It will now shows "MIC ON"! "ECHO", "KEY" options will now shows up when pressing "KARAOKE" button repeatedly. However, microphone sound will not be available on digital output, you'll have to use the audio RCA. Happy singing!
