Your carb probably has 3 screws that can be adjusted. The one against the throttle shaft plate is the IDLE speed screw, probably Philips head. Turning it in opens the throttle settings, backing it out, does the opposite. No real concern here. But, the other 2 screws are: the L and H mixture screws. Typically, the heads of these 2 screws are of an unconventional design to prohibit tampering by the end-user (you). I use a small, plastic automotive wire connector tapped down onto the heads of these screws to get ahold of them to turn. Try it. In the case of your machine dying out upon acceleration, providing it is back together properly and adjusted correctly (see link included for tuning), you will need to try turning the L mixture screw counterclockwise about 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn, because at WOT (wide open throttle) the carb utilizes the fuel in the L (idle) circuit of the carb alongwith the fuel being provide by the H (High Speed) fuel circuit.

Engine rebuild and running fine. After a jet kit and carb rebuild engine will not idle. Carbs have been taken apart and gone through several times by several different shops engine has great acceleration...

Seems that the crank/timing settings needs a closerr look than to feel that the carb is faulty. The engine is becoming rougher because the firing angle is changed. I also doubt that the carb /jet kit be replaced back with the original as the new jet is not matching.
Now start the engine and set up idle to more than minimum so that the vehicle does not stall but is somewhat smooth. Now try to advance/****** the timing and notice if the engine becomes smoother irrespective of the TDC settings. If so set to the best level and bring down the Idle , do not reduce off air but check the mixture at the exhaust to have this done all over.
Somewhere in the new change a point has been missed..

Troy built weedeater 70ss gas engine will not run

The needle and seat (esp. the needle) meter the amount of gas/oil that is being allowed into the metering chamber of the carb for use by the engine. Your problem does seem fuel related. These carbs are very temperamental and scare most folks. A guide to how they work can be found here: www.zamacarb.com/pdfs/TechGuide_2007.pdf
This will give you an understanding of what exactly you are dealing with. You may only require a diaghram kit or rebuild kit to get the carb back to the functionality it was designed for. That info can be found here once you know your carbs exact model number.

A troubleshooting guide for these carbs is included in the first pdf file, look it over maybe and see what you think. Post back maybe later after going to school (doesn't hurt to learn how they work). We will be here. I know you want to use this machine (its the growing season) but there are so many things that can be wrong that it needs to be narrowed down...sounds like fuel starvation and just may need to clean the inside of the carb with something like the brake parts cleaner spray. It is non-flammable and doesn't damage the sensitive parts inside these carburetors the way ehanol and harsh carb/chokle sprays and strong solvents due...NEVER soak these carbs in a "Gunk style" carb cleaning tank....it will seriously damage sensitive internal parts and check valves!

I have a Shindiawa T-27 weedeater.Everytime i give it gas,it stalls.Idles fine but stalls as soon as you hit the gas.i put clean gas a new plug in it no good.

Depending on how old this unit is, you should be able to adjust the hi/lo speed needles on the carb. If it is so new that they have a strange head rather than a screwdrive slot, you will have to experiment to find something that will turn them. Sounds like you are not getting fuel when you open the throttle. Other than that, probably a carb cleaning would be in order.

When turning the fuel needle, you just want to turn it about 1/4 turn then try to give it the gas. You are going to be turning it out, or counter clock wise. Once you get it so that the engine will rev, try giving it fuel 2 or 3 times very fast. If it bogs down or acts like it is going to die, adjust the needle a bit more.

Weedeater won't take fuel

You need to remove the carb., disassemble and spay with carb. cleaner. Use a Den Tek Brush, (used for cleaning between teeth), toclean the small portals in carb. Check the small screen. It could have dirt clogged in it. Reasseble and start. If it still doesn't run properly, you will need to buy a carb. kit and replace the screen, needle valve, gasket(s), & diaphragm.
