Not receiving faxes

Kodak all in one faxing

Go to menu option and choose the option fax and set the parameter like auto receive or manual set the ring auto answer mode after certain ring. If it is in auto receiving mode it will receive the fax after the ring which you set. Make sure the phone wire which you insert in fax machine getting proper dial tone and getting out going calling facility.

They might be trying to send from a DSL phone line.

You will automatically receive faxes from anyone with a compatible fax anywhere in the world. You may be confusing receiving as you had to enter your area code in setup to send faxes. That does not keep you from receiving (or sending) anywhere you like.

There is too much noise on the line for a valid connection between two fax machines to complete. The noise problem might go away over time.

Solution

Retry the fax reception at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved. Call the telephone provider if line conditions fail to improve.

The receiving fax machine is turned off or not functioning. Try calling your cell phone.

Do you have a DSL phone line?

Sounds like its a problem in the other end, if the machine can send and receviving faxes.

Check your phone lines from the wall to fax and ask the sender to do the same.

Same problem here - I got it work:

- Error Correction: off
- V34: off

(both Menu -> Fax-Setup - All Faxes)

- detect-dial-tone: off

(Menu -> Fax Setup - Fax Send setup - detect dial tone)

Looking through all the service documentation and engeneering tips, and also searching the Xerox.com database, I find no E3 code for a F12.
Do you have the ECM mode on your mechine set to "ON" ?
That is the error correction mode.
I really can't find an E3 message in service documentation.
I will download a user guide and see if I can find it there.
