Comcast installed Arris TM602G/CT Modem yesterday. Attempted to link modem to MAC AIRPORT wireless router. Have net access with my PC cabled to modem. If I hook the modem to the AIRPORT, the PC indicates access with limited connectivity. Have no web access. Has anyone experienced similar issues with Comcast access with this modem when it is connected to an AIRPORT wireless device

I have an arris tm602g. What is the IP address to access modem 192.????

Try 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.100.1. Make sure that your pc is connected directly to the Arris TM602G modem and not on a router.

Arris Model: TM602G S/N: TM02AH1G6 Modem is not communicating with my Linksys router-WRT160N V3 or my Linksys Compact Wireless-G USB Network Adapter with Speedbooster. I have spent hours online With...

Hi ltuttle650,

If your modem is not communicating with your Linksys router, your Arris modem was most likely installed directly to a PC or Mac when either you or a technician installed it. As soon as it connected it registered your MAC address from your NIC. You need to make your sure that the modem is still talking to the PC or Mac. Please try the steps below.

1. Find out what your NIC's MAC is (go to "Start", "run", "CMD", "ipconfig/all")

2. Copy down your NIC's "Physical Address." That is the MAC.

3. Go into your router's web based utility (Linksys is 192.168.1.1, username:none ; pw: admin) and click on the "Advanced" tab.

4. Then click on the "MAC Address Clone" tab.

5. Type in the number that you copied down. Click "Apply."

6. Now power cycle your Modem while it is disconnected from your computer and router. Power Cycle the router. After everything has rebooted connect the router to the modem and you should be good to go!

In most cases, this should work, and you ought to have internet access now.

If this did not work, the following is a quick fix:
1. Go to the 'Applications & Gaming' tab
2. Click the sub-heading 'DMZ'
3. Click 'Enable'.
4. Click 'Save settings'.
5. Wait for the settings to save, and click 'Continue'.

If this doesn't work, I would recommend calling your cable ISP and telling them that you need a modem that will work with more than one computer, or you need them to send a tech out who is able to set up the internet through a router.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I just switched to TimeWarnerCable/Internet. How do I connect two PC's to the Aris TM602G Modem? Then How do I connect my Laptop? Bob

You connect the Aris to a wireless router with say 4 LAN ports.
You connect the PCs with LAN cables to the LAN ports on the wireless router and install a wireless card in the laptop if it does not have one.
To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-

Do I need a router in addition to the Arris tm602g ct provided by Comcast?

Yes, you will need a router the Touchstone® TM602G is only a modem. I recommend a Cisco-Linksys (#1 recommended router brand) like the E1000 Wireless- N Router (Walmart $59.00) with up to 300 Mbps data transfer rates; WPA/WPA2 (personal and enterprise) and SPI firewall protection; four 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports. It will meet all your needs.

Need solution to Networking 2 comps thru an Arris tm602g/ct via a linksys 8 port switch, the seems to be no Usb connection on the modem

You will need to purchase a router my friend. The arris does not have a DHCP server built in and cannot assign IP addresses to the work stations. The only way that could work is if you ISP provided you with a second IP address, which would also be extremely unsafe from a security standpoint. Any wireless router should do the trick.

I have an arris tm602gct and cannot connect thru my netgear

Can you connect if you are directly wired into the router?

You may want to try using a ball point pen and pressing the reset button on the back of the arris. Let it reboot and try again.

Some netgear routers come with the wireless disabled out of the box, so you need to be hard wired when you run the CD or if you try to connect through your browser 192.168.1.1

ARRIS Modem + D-Link router = no internet

when you are on Cable Internet with a "modem" only connected directly to the computer, what the ISP see is the computer's MAC Address (command prompt -> type ipconfig and hit enter).

put a router (which has it's own MAC Address) in-between and the ISP wont let you cause it sees the router not the computer.

check physical connection: cable modem -> router -> computer(hard wire for this troubleshooting)

access the d-link gui and locate the “Clone MAC Address" button (supposed to clone the computers MAC Address - verify if it's the same), save settings & reboot the router.
