CyberHome DVD 1600 won't record to Sony disk

I believe the recorder is bad, it should be able to accept all brands and types of disks. You might want to try another brand and type of disk just to make sure, if it does not work, the recorder is bad. Good luck to you!

Can't record from tv to dvd

I think you would have to run your sat line through the DVR-1600 first (Line In) then connect directly from the DVR to one of your TV Line-Ins (Audio R, Audio-L, S-Cable Video).
And then use the Cyberhome TV Tuner to record off your sat.

Cyberhome DVR 1600 DVD

What format are you recording in?If the recorder is set for DVD +R, and your playback machine won't read the disc, you may need to record on a DVD-R, or a DVD +-R. Or vice-versa. Some DVDRW discs will record on one machine and won't play on another. The media are incompatible. Another problem - if you are copying a copy-protected disc, it might not play back either. Are you sure you are finalizing the disc? This process takes 4-5 minutes and requires two or three responses sometime.

CYBERHOME DVD RECORDER DVR1600

I cannot say this with authority, since I own a 1200 model, but from what I've read of that model researching my own it's most likely the power supply. It is repairable if you or someone you know can solder. Here's what I found:

I did pretty much the same to my 1200, replaced two 2200uF caps with 35V versions. Make sure the rated voltage of the new caps is at least 16V! Higher is better. There's also a firmware update for that model, you might want to look into that too. Of course, you can't use it until this is fixed.

When recording the dvd player pauses all by its self then wont record

Hi,

It might be possible to update the firmware via CD, which may be able to get around certain hardware issues, however I doubt whether it will fix the problem. I have a lot of experience with these units, and in most cases it ends up being the laser or the laser main/driver board. If you know of anyone that can re-work the surface mount componentry, it is worth a try. If these options are not available to you and your unit is out of warranty, it is a throwaway job or sell on internet as faulty. Hope this helps...

Problems with dvd reading

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY LG DVD RECORDER NOT EXCEPTING CERTAIN RECORDABLE DISCS . NO GUARANEES BUT TRY GOING TO YOUR SETUP MENU AND RE-SET THE ORIGINAL FACTORY SETTINGS FOR THE RECORDER THEN PUT A DVD CLEANER DISC IN YOUR RECORDER TAKES ABOUT TWO MINS TO CLEAN UNIT THEN TRY A BRAND THAT DOES WORK IN YOUR RECORDER OTHER THAN VERBATIM OR MAXEL . RECORD SOMETHING THEN EJECT IT . NOW TRY ONE OF YOUR MAXEL OR VIBATIM DISCS AND SEE IF IT WILL READ THIS TIME FOR RECORDING . GOOD LUCK . BEST REGARDS , blc7772001

Recording problem on new blank discs...

Try using Verbatim DVD's, they seem to work the best with Cyberhome recorders.
