I have a compact avanti regrigerator. It doesnt get cold anymore. What do you think might be the problem? I bought it since 2007.

You need a new gauge panel. Very common problem with these cars. There are people that can repair them like new.

Hi, sounds to me as though your temperature control is faulty, and the unit is running all the time. This control will have to be replaced. This is something you can do if you take your time and draw a wiring diagram in case you forget. It will have a long coiled up wire with a bulb on the end of it mounted in the evaporator section in the refrigerator section. This all comes out together. This is the only thing that would cause this problem. Get all of the numbers, model, serial, and part numbers when you go to the appliance parts house to get one. You should have no problems in doing this. Please keep me posted as I am sure this unit is worth changing out the stat.

I have an Avanti mini refrig. thermoelectric having trouble getting it to cool or cold it is a model EC15W-2

thermoelectric needs a good heat dissipation. Give the unit a good ventilation to dissipate the heat, you will cool the unit. The cooler the ambient, the cooler the box. Remember not to reverse the switch, you will get a heated box instead.

Take this unit back even if you bought it used and get a new one it is still under warranty.

I had this same problem. I did some troubleshooting and figured out that the fan was being bogged down by ice. It wouldn't spin because the ice was so heavy. I turned the power off completely and let the ice melt. Once the ice was removed from the fan, the fridge began working again!
