I had a bad storm 1 hour ago had a couple lightning strikes a breaker in the kitchen popped and I guess the Ac Adaptor on the phone had a surge. The AC adaptor was burn your hand hot. I have no power to 5.8 ghz digital control box model TRU9280-4 . I dont know if the just the AC adaptor is bad or the whole unit. The phone that was on the unit had a scrambled screen but I unplugged Battery and the screen reset so the phone is ok. Without power can't check the contol box
Your phone did expirence a surge that probably blew the ac adaptor which happens most of the time, u can buy one of those universal adaptors and look on the back of the old adaptor for the output voltage it will usually read between 3 and 8 volts DC.Set the universal adAptor voltage to the setting right below the voltage output on the back of the ac adaptor.

I did think the same thing and went and got a new AC adaptor. no power to the control unit so it must have destroyed the internals some how. I called the 800 # and was told if I still have the receipt for the phone it can be replaced. So I will be digging thru my desk to see if I have kept my receipt. Thanks for your assistance DJB
