Sounds like the defrost thermostat is not opening and element is heating too long or the ice maker is sticking in harvest too long and the tray heater is heating too long. try turning off the icemaker for a day

Sometimes ice melts in ice maker. Water drips down and refreezes.

There is a heater built into the ice maker bottom to help release ice cubes from the machine. Under normal conditions the heater only come on when the ice maker starts to run and then jambs against the frozen cubes. When it stalls and jambs against the frozen ice cubes, the heater comes on to melt the cubes enough. I think you have a defective ice maker and the heater is coming on to much or at the wrong time, Since your temps go back to normal with the ice maker turned off, I am almost sure thats your problem.

Is it safe to refreeze meat, such as venison steak after it has completely thawed?

Refreezing
Once food is thawed in the refrigerator, it is safe to refreeze it without cooking, although there may be a loss of quality due to the moisture lost through thawing. After cooking raw foods which were previously frozen, it is safe to freeze the cooked foods. If previously cooked foods are thawed in the refrigerator, you may refreeze the unused portion. Freeze leftovers within 3-4 days. Do not refreeze any foods left outside the refrigerator longer than 2 hours; 1 hour in temperatures above 90 Ā°F.

Melting/refreezing ice in the ice makes

If the ice is the only item that appears to be melting or defrosting. I would believe the most possible issue. The icemaker is leaking intermittantly into the bin and freezing the cubes inplace.

I have a side by side refrigerator, automatic ice maker freezes.

What is happening is a partial melting and refreezing. Make sure the ice compartment door is kept closed.

Both top sections fridge/freezer of my side by side are not cold

Sounds like a defrost problem. Remove food from freezer section, take the back wall out after removing shelves, and use a hair blower to melt off the ice and frost. Most likely you need to replace the defrost heater.

The ice in my ice maker bucket is melting and refreezing into a solid mass. I just looked at a recently made cube and it still has liquid in the center.

Yours has a 215846602 Defrost Timer, Located inside the fresh food compartment. I believe that it's sticking in defrost and you possibly need a new defrost timer.
Here is a photo location of the timer # 23 is the timer. I want you to turn the timer until the refrigerator compressor stops. Time it for about 25 minutes and the refrigerator should restart. If not then it's sticking in defrost so again turn clockwise slowly until the compressor restarts. That is possibly what is causing the melting and refreezing. Sea Breeze
