Hi,
JCV 52Z585 has 1 port HDMI that support 480p
if your input higher your tv will not support.
There are 2 type of HDMI 480p signal, 640x480 and 720x480.
To seting input HDMI to JVC, you should seting input device to default resolution or 480 depend on device (DVD, PC, blueray etc).

The picture has a green hue but otherwise seems ok.

Normally this would indicate a defective optical light engine on this model but it is also possible it is a firmware issue---JVC would know based on the model number.

If the green gradually go worse the light engine is more likely.

It wouldn't hurt to go into to your menu, under the HDMI input, and find the factory reset...maybe someone accidentally adjusted something. hope this helps !

Vchip rest. Inputs won't show HDMI

Make sure you have a good hdmi cable, and make sure you have a signal. Try another HDMI slot, and see if that helps. If nothing works, unplug the HDMI inputs and turn the set off overnight. Then plug each HDMI plug in one at at time, and turn the device on. This helped in a couple of instances I know of.
Since I don't know the model you have, the following blog may or may not be helpful to you:

Good luck, and hope this helps.

JVC TV LT-32G80BU can't navigate in menu + all channels messed up

TV seems to reset it's settings for some reason (it happened to me with similar TV - LT-32A80SU). I have found the way to solve this situation - service menu.

Press button "i" and "mute" on remote at the same time - service menu should appear. Now press 8 and there should be menu that allows to change few advanced features. Pressing down and up arrows allows to navigate, pressing right and left arrows changes values. You have to change "dual HDMI" to YES (this will enable second HDMI port) and change "remocon" to other option available (this will change how the remote behaves). Save settings by pressing OK button. Now you can leave service menu by pressing "i" button twice. You should now be able to use your TV like before.

Remember - these are instructions for my TV and they worked for me but playing with service menu can be dangerous so you're doing it at your own risk. Ask JVS support if you're not sure what to do.

HDMI interface issues

If you swapped directv receivers and the problem followed to a different tv then there is something wrong with the directv receiver. Need to run satellite setup again on this receiver to fix. repeat satellite setup is accessible through the setup submenu by pressing menu from the directv remote. look under satellite submenu once in setup

No video input -- all ports -- for JVC LT-37X688

JVC may allow warranty exception or some accomodation for 15 days out. You have 2 seperate issues

1. White lines spreading is probably a video process problem. I think this TV has 3 Boards inside. Middle one is most likely suspect followed by the one on the Right

2. HDMI input not working is because they were turned OFF. JVC TV's have a sensor that will shut off the HDMI if the TV's back cover is removed. This must be reset in the Service Menu.

My HDMI port on my JVC 48avp575 rear projection TV is not working.I've tried all menus using sleep timer instructions, etc. ... no luck. I can change to ng's to ok's, but as soon as a device is connected,...

Jvc have a little problem with there HDMI ports of by some how you run the set with the back off or get to much light in the back the HDMI locks up. So you have to reset the set, this isn't to hard, from the original remote have the two switches (if any) have these on TV and VCR or both to the left, next hit the Sleep Timer now before this disappears from the screen hit both Video Status and Display at the same time, this brings up a service menu, hit button 2 this is the self check, now turn off the set then unplug it for 30 second and the HDMI should work
