I have had similar problems with toys myself. Seems as if when I am sure that my boys are done with a toy and it is long forgotten- it resurfaces needing some tlc... Here is a link to get the battery pack and cover. I would also suggest checking auction sites, as I have been able to find elusive little plastic parts of helicopters there too :-) Best of luck, and looking at Butterscotch; I would love her too!

That link goes to a Wikipedia page about Dr. Sengai Podhuvan.. Hasbro, according to Grace, does not have any parts for the FurReal pony but she is a treasure trove of information. Just call Hasbro customer service and see if you can find anything out from Grace. She answers the phone :)
After Christmas, there will probably be several of these ponies with issues available, shipping is going to be the issue. But if you can find one close enough, you can probably ship through Greyhound for under $100. I've previously posted ideas for replacing tail, etc.
Also, on eBay and probably other sites, you can pick up horse tail extensions (probably for shows and horses that rub their tails out) for different prices. I'll post a link to a seller in a moment but please keep in mind, these come from the Orient where horsemeat is a delicacy so the tail came from a once live horse. I don't condone this, in fact I am against it - especially as it will once again be legal to ********* horses in the US again (thank Obama). Before buying a real horse tail, I would seriously suggest picking up human or synthetic hair extensions or falls before buying horsetail. This is the link to human hair on eBay which comes in extensions, falls, wiglets, etc.

This is the link to the horse tail - which makes me kind of sick

I'm posting the second link more to bring awareness to the problem and issue, and hope there are enough horse lovers who will want more information and didn't know that the new budget the President signed puts taxpayer-paid inspectors back in slaughterhouses and investors can't move fast enough to open equine slaughterhouses in the US. With the price of hay soaring due to drought, horses are cheap. It's the perfect storm. Contact me for information on how to get involved and stop this.
Before spending that kind of money, I'd buy a ponytail wig or doll hair
