Sir, I am trying to play the Movie "The Rite" (HQ)NTSC-DVD-RIP-ENG-2010-AVI) downloaded from Picktorrent in Media player classic but on the screen message comes " Codec is missing. please download and install codec from www.codecavil.com. Please help me play this movie. Thanks and regards.

Try downloading VLC media player or GOM player.They are free.
You can also try installing either k lite mega codec pack (free) or All-in -One Codec packs.Is it just a problem with this movie??Do you have problems playing other avi files??

To copy from dvd you will need to RIP the movie in media player
Then you will need to burn it in burn list in media player.

For other movies that are AVI files and you want them on disc to play in DVD player, then you will have to download ConvertX to DVD program and convert file from AVI to DVD

Hi, it depends on the type of movie clips you have on the disk. its possible they maybe avi files. To play on most dvd players you would need to convert them to mpeg 2 which is the format for dvd movies,you can google for software, or if you need more help go to videohelp.com. Normski

Downloading

The following formats can be played on Windows media player:

avi
mov
mp4
mpg
mpeg

Normally DVD players cannot read compressed formats, if you have a regular DVD/MP3 player, that wont read any of the formats above, or with some luck will read only uncoded Avi, mov or mpeg.

The formats above are all compressed formats, and often they need additional software call codecs, they can be read on computers, but they generally are not working on dvd players.

To be sure that a DVD will read compressed computer movies, you need a special DVD player with Divx , like the one below:

yeah you should install the video codec for playing the divX videos..
either download and install KLM CODEC pack

or you can use VLC player which plays literally all the formats of multimedia..

I am sorry, but you've downloaded a fake Torrent. The video you've download isn't a genuine copy but it's been uploaded by someone trying to fool people and let users waste their bandwidth. The website "www.codecavil.com" is also a not existing website. It's always important to read the comments and the ratings of a particular torrent before downloading. Actually using or accessing torrent or P2P isn't recommended since there are many viruses transferring to and from. But if you wish to use torrent tracking softwares, always download them from trusted users and trusted torrent trackers/websites. Notice the Comments and the Positing Ratings.

Note: There are many more similar fake torrents.. so beware before you download so that you may not waste time, energy and bandwidth..

Sorry to disappoint you but the movie you download maybe a fake contaning a link to a malicious website. please dont download anything from that site. if you are still eager to watch the movie try downloading a fresh copy from www.thepiratebay.org... check comments to know whether it is a fake or not....

Download and install VLC player. It plays everything.
