GE Over range microwave model JVM1443LK01 This started a couple days ago. After removeing something from the microwave and we shut the door, the fan started up. The fan will run as long as the door is shut. It is not cooking as I can hear the differance. Now whenever the door is shut the fan turns on. It does work for cooking, but the fan never shuts off.

    Would the door cause the fan to run? The fan shuts off when I open the door but turns back on when the door is closed.

I would check the door switches for a faulty switch. If it were condensation on the control panel. I would think it would have dried out by now unless it has damaged the control board.

    If one of the change over switches was faulty, the fan may run because the fan will ground through the HV transformer primary winding.

That is probably a bad primary interlock (bottom door switch).

See this file for help on checking and replacing door switches.

There should be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, & testing.

GE Spacesaver microwave always runs when the door is shut
I see this all the time. In all likelihood the mangnetron has failed, or perhaps even the Power Supply. or a fault that is shutting the system down for safety reasons You need to have it serviced by a reputable service centre/man. Ensure you get a firm "Quote" before proceeding, and remember these days the cost of repair can equal or exceed the price of a new one.

Chances are you have a shorted door switch, but all owners of a GE WES model might want to look at this blog post.

If it's been less than 30 days since you bought it, I'd hurry and take it back to the dealer for a refund, not an exchange.
