Hello there a_guerrero_d.
Here's your GEEK-steer ...
Just so I'm clear, here's what I'm hearing in your question:
- You already possess an "Intel Pentium 4 proccesor (socket 775)" CPU chip.
- You are shopping for a motherboard, and have desire to marry that chip with a "Biostar G31-M7 TE" motherboard (MB).
- That is, until a "dealer" told you "That M/B don't work with these proccesor".
If this is accurate, I believe the one operative word out of all the many above, is "DEALER". My guess is this dealer is "dealing", and either:
- doesn't want to sell only the MB without whatever chip he currently has installed in it.
- wants to get you to give up on YOUR chip in order to get one from him,
- or is honestly mistaken ... because unless he knows something that you, I, and the MB manufacturer are not privy to, he's plainly wrong.
Per the
MB's own spec-sheet, the "
Biostar G31-M7 TE socket 775 mATX motherboard features an Intel G31 / Intel ICH7 chipset with support for socket 775 ... Pentium 4 Processor"s. I
personally would have no hesitation pairing that chip with this MB.
In conclusion, the answer your final question: "
Who has the reason". I believe it's clear that it's the "
dealer" who has reason ... to not provide you with accurate advice!
Good luck, and thanks in advance for posting back ...
- to let me (and others) know how things worked out,
- if you have any further questions,
- to provide clarification or feedback.
"Today's the best day of my life ... and NOW you're part of it!"
