Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
This symptom is caused by a water inlet valve that is bypassing water when it is supposed to be shut off. The inlet water valve is not repairable and must be replaced when this symptom occurs. There can be yet other problems with he ice-maker itself, but changing the water inlet valve will correct this about 95 % of the time. Changing the inlet water valve is the first step in troubleshooting. Should you call for in home service; the tech will change the inlet water valve before doing any other troubleshooting and will most likely have to return after 24 hours to continue ice-maker troubleshooting.

If you need help locating a replacement inlet water valve I will need your complete model number.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Sorry for the delay. My house was within 1 inch of flooding and we spent the day moving stuff. Water is now receeding!

I hate to ask questions vs answering questions but is this a UK or AU model? Somehow I get the feeling this a 220V water vavle.

I finally found the correct water valve for your unit and you can find it here:

    http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdir... $39.99

The part number is there but there is not an item number reference for the water valve.

Why does Ice in ice maker sticks together, forms clumps. Jams, then kicks latch open

I'm pretty sure there's an owners manual section on adjusting the ICE-MAKER's fill level... (url @ bottom)

Every-other caution SEZ
"Thou shalt not RESET more often than 24 hours"

Over-filling can cause the cubes to be strongly connected... and cause clumping issues in the bin...

Also look to see that the cubes are not hollow... that is a different adjustment.

Make small adjustments... you will be happy...

Big (evidently FREQUENT) adjustment can cause more trouble than inviting the Samsonite gorilla in to SERVICE your appliance...

Ice maker leaking out the bottom and refreezing ice cubes to a big glob

are the cubes coming out of the unit? Sounds like the heating element is not activating, to release the cubes prior to refilling. Check electrical connections at the rear of the unit against the freezer wall that they are together. If ok then defrosting element may be defective, Replace unit.

Ice maker makes ice however there is a big clump of ice stuck to the bottom of the bin. It keeps happening each time I remove the clump. I have replaced the 2 valves in the back of the refrig/freeze

Sounds as if the tray is running over. Are the cubes oversized? If you remove the cover (front, usually) from the icemaker you'll probably find a fill adjustment -- a screw with + and - markings. Rotate the screw 1/2 turn in the - direction and see if you notice a reduction in cube size. If it's running over, you may need to make more than one 1/2 turn adjustment.

Ice maker makes ice but will dispense through door. Checked and it is not clogged.

Good day!!!

This could be because the ice is clumped in the ice bin. When the automatic defrost cycle occurs, heat is transferred to the freezer area. This can cause the cubes to melt slightly and refreeze back together. You can take the bin out and give it a good shake, or simply discard the cubes and start over with a fresh batch of ice cubes. By increasing the amount of food in the freezer compartment, you may be able to buffer the heat that comes from the defrost cycle and avoid clumping issues. If you have a large ice bin and hardly use any ice, it is possible that the cubes have gotten stuck together just from the weight of the cubes on top of others.

I hope this information will be helpful...Thanks for using fixya...
