I have an LG Tromm wm2487 front load washer. We have occaisonally gotten the OE code, with nothing clogging the filter. It now will spin slowly to agitate the clothes, but will not spin them dry. It makes a light humming sound but will not spin. Is this a bad motor? Or is it linked to the OE code somehow?

check the clean out first in the pump, use a shop vac to catch the water in the pump, you can vac it out from the tube that's next to the pump or get the drain hose, take it out of the stand pipe or sink and vac the water out through the drain hose, the closer you get it down to the ground helps with gravity helping.

also when you have the hoses off the pump vac them out too,i've found the metal part of a bra in there and coins, never made it out to the catch in pump.good luck.

Find the drain pump and check the sloppiness of the impeller, if it has sloppiness in the shaft it throws a code and some times it will work just enough to not throw a code but not pull the water enough at spin cycle...
They run around $150 online, fairly easy to replace.
The slowing of the machine may be a limp mode, so that you don't tear up the rest of the machine...good luck!

Replacement motors only cost around $30 from amazon among others.

SOURCE: washer smells bad

There is a door on the bottom og this machine, I opened the door to find a little spot, I placed a bowel under the spout and opened it, drained all of the liquid out and this problem stopped! I also ran the machine on hot water with bleach after I emptied this resevoir. How often you do laundry will determine how often you must empty it. For me, once every 6-8 months does the trick!

SOURCE: Why won't the drum spin on my LG Tromm front load washer?

I had the same problem and it was a bad sensor assembly (#6501KW2002A). You can order
it from an online electronics store (www.mcminone.com). Cost is approx. $20.

I fixed it based on a thread from 2007:
See http://www.fixya.com/support/t159708-lg_washer_wm1832c

But, here's what I did:
1. Unplug the machine.
2. Take off the back plate that has 4 small screws.
3. Unscrew the big bolt in the middle.
4. Take off the hubcap looking part the bolt was securing.
5. Unclip the two sets of wires on the bottom of the circle you are looking at
(the set of wires to the right are connected to the sensor assembly you want to replace).
6. Unscrew the 6 smaller bolts to take off the circular piece that the sensor assembly is snapped to.
7. Mark with a pen where the sensor attaches so you know where to snap the new one.
8. Unclip the old sensor assembly and clip on the new one
9. Reassemble.

SOURCE: LG WM2487 front load washer spews suds out of port on rear.

You are likely using too much detergent or the detergent is not high-efficiency detergent. Change detergents and/or lower amount and this problem should go away.

The water port on the back allows air inside the tub to escape. However, if the wrong type or quantity of detergent are used, excess suds will flow from this port.

SOURCE: Got an LG front load washer WM2277HS with an error

Replace the Drain Pump. Its very cheap to replace, so do not worry. The impeller magnet was most likely damaged by a small object or normal wear & tear,

If you want to be sure, first remove it and attach power to its 2 pins.

Good Luck :-) - J.Q

My LG Tromm front loader has an OE error message and isn't spinning. First received the message during a full load of laundry. Had to drain the water from the hose at the bottom and finally got it unlocked...

OE is normally down to blocked drain pipes, mcalpine (connection under the sink) or a blocked front filter. empty the machine and unscrew the filter behind the flap at the bottom right hand side, check for any obstructions, icoins, hair grips etc are normally blocking here

I have a problem with my LG Tromm front load washer. It will wash seemingly normally up to the point it gets to the spin cycle. Then a motor comes on and the machine does not spin or drain. The display...

The LG error code OE simply means "the pump is blocked". Presumably the water isn't being emptied properly. As with all error codes it is possible that there is a cause other than the exact description in the error code explanation but basically this error means as far as the washing machine is concerned it thinks the water isn't pumping out. A pump, or filter blockage is the most common cause but it could be caused by other faults such as a faulty pump, or even a blockage in the drain hose or somewhere else in the system etc.

LG themselves have some information on this error code..

On my front loading LG TROMM i washed several floor mats and now it keeps flashing "OE" i have drained the water out but cant get it to rinse properly>>>any ideas?

The "OE" code indicates a slow drain error and is generated if the water has not drained within 10 minutes. Check the drain line for kinks or obstructions and check the pump. Remove the hoses from the pump and use a flashlight to look into the suction port. Make sure that nothing is clogging the pump like the occasional stray piece of clothing. Check the pump impeller. Make sure there are no broken or missing blades and that the impeller will spin freely. If there are any broken/missing blades or if you cannot get the impeller to spin freely, the pump is defective. Hopefully it is nothing more than a clogged drain line, pump, or a jammed impeller. Really sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.
