Trio 596.76502500 Mystery Noise

Howdy,
For the last 4 days our Trio model fridge freezer has had a croaking sound coming from the back side of the freezer by the ice maker. The funny thing is if we open the freezer drawer - it stops. As soon as we close the freezer drawer it starts.

I checked the manual for information on that type of sound but nothing matched.

Any thoughts or help you can give would be greatly appreciated (the sound is starting to get on our nerves).

Does the noise only occur when the compressor is running ? My unit has this problem, similar symptoms to your unit, they stop when the freezer door is opened, etc., Several service calls have not completely eliminated it - yet ! The problem seems to be that the compressor coils are too close to each other and rattle. Adjusting them helps for a awhile.

Fridge working off/on

If the noise was coming from the compressor when it was cutting off or starting, it was the internal mounts of the compressor and the compressor will have to be replaced. If the noise was a fan, it may have stopped. One is in the freezer behind the rear cover and one is underneath where the compressor is behind the cardboard cover.

Loud noise from freezer of GE model GSF25TGTB (Side by side)

Problems not related.  The first is most likely the fan, or possibly water dripping on to the fan and freezing, but usually the noise comes from the fan struggling to run.  The cube problem could be as simple as the ice dispenser being put back in wrong.  There is a metal lever under the ice tray that switches between crushed and cubed.  Make sure it is seated properly.

A very unusual 'croaking' frog like noise from the back of the freezer compartment. It stops if the freezer door is opened and starts again once closed. The freezer light switch is involved: With the...

I have a Kenmore Elite Trio and the freezer was making a frog sound. I found the solution.

My model number is 596.75523400. The sound will stop when the freezer is opened. It will stop again when the freezer drawer is open and the light switch is pressed to turn off the light. The ice drawer was full but it had stopped making ice.

Here is the fix in less than 10 minutes using only a screwdriver.
  • Take out the two freezer baskets
  • Remove the freezer door from the two slide tracks.
  • Unplug the icemaker electric connection at the back wall. Depress the clips on the side of the plug and wiggle it loose.
  • There are 3 screws that attach the icemaker to the left freezer wall. Remove the lower screw and unscrew the top two about ½ way out.
  • Slide the icemaker up so the slots slip over the 2 screws.
  • Put the icemaker in the sink and run a bit of water on the frozen cubes until they fall out.
  • Take the screwdriver and check the water inlet hose/pipe for ice that obstructs the flow of water into the ice maker.
  • Re-mount using the 3 screws and plug in the electric connector. Make certain the water inlet tube is positioned thru the retaining hole before you remount the screws.
  • Replace freezer door and baskets.

Candy fridge freezer

it should come back after about 20 mins only and should cool back after about 10 mins.

i'm afraid the buzzing sound could be coming from your compressor which can not start. the over current relay is tripping off after 20 seconds to prevent the compressor from burning up.
i suggest to unplug the ref, let it cool for 1 day, re plug it after a day and observe the compressor if would run.

if the buzzing sound is still there and the unit is no longer cooling, then the compressor is not running.
check the relay of the compressor. it could just be the relay.

tnx 4 using fixya,

Kenmore 795.7731 Fridge warm;freezer cold - Error er dH

I faced the same problem for Kenmore elite Trio Model # 795.77543600 bottom freezer refrigerator. The issue as pointed out by Medeer on fixya.com, turned out to be the part called component assembly, part number 6615JB2005H. I got this replaced yesterday but for 4 hours I did not notice any cooling... so I thought it did not work.... but then in the morning I notice that the issue has been resolved, the refrigerator is cold and there is no eR dH error message. Thanks to all who shared on this site.

JennAir JC2289AE Refridgerater Grinding Noise ??

i can't find a diagram on this model.are you sure it is correct.is this the one with the two long slide levers to adjust the temp for fridge and freezer?if so,the sound will be coming from the right in the back.some describe it almost as a motor sound.generally that is the sound of the defrost board.it should not do that.that is a early warning sign of trouble and soon frost will develop on the lower freezer wall.replace the board.if it the one with two nobs on the left for temp adjust, then you probally have a noisy damper(the doorway between the fridge side and freezer that lets in cold)without more info, its hard to say

Rattling in freezer

The noise is most likley coming from on of the fan motors. My guess is the condensor fan motor which is on the back of the fridge at the bottom. You will need to take the back off and see if the blade is hitting something or the housing for the fan is loose. The vibration from that fan may even cause the drain pan to rattle. If the noise is coming from inside the freezer then it is the evaporator fan motor and would likely have some ice buildup around the blade for to make noise. Will have to take the grill off in the center top of the panel in the freezer to inspect this fan. There is little tab in the middle of that grill that you push up on and pop the bottom loose then pry on one side with a screwdriver, pushing inward and pull out for the grill to come off. Let me know what you find.
