I have ZR25MC. it's about 8 to 10 years old. \r\nRecently having a problem. I took to a some repair shop and they made camcorder even worse. 1) 1st problem - when reply the VCR tape, picture does not appear on screen. There is always some signal flashing on screen and I do not know what does signal means. I do not have manual anymore. 2) 2nd problem - I did not have this problem before, but it happened after I picked up camcorder from the repair shop. They added this problem. It is unlikely in the extreme that there are any updated drivers for equipment as old as this.

The best way to get it out is take it to a camera shop of Best Buy. They didn't put a manual eject on the player. If you take it into a shop they should know what to do.

Once it's out clean the heads with a DV tape cleaner.

The heads are probably dirty. First you can try to let a tape run through from start to end and see if it cleans the head. then try running in reverse play scan. Next try a head cleaner tape if you have not yet. If these things do not get your picture back you should take it to a repair shop, I do not recomend taking camcorders apart for cleaning at home. Full size VCR's are ok to clean your self with instructions but not camcorders because they are vary easy to damage worse without experiance and proper tools.

DO NOT TOUCH IT! i took apart a vx1000 and broke more than i fixed. i wouldnt send it in either. just buy another camera. or **** and try to fix it. ITS hard work and onky if ur patient, should u persue the task!

had a similar problem a while ago, took the camcorder to repair. the problem was that the reading-head (the part that is incharge of reading the tapes) needed cleaning. i used a cleaning cassette - problem solved.
