The inverter for the backlight likely has a bad capacitor or more. The fluctuating high voltage is causing the jumping and eventual blackness until sufficient charge is on the caps, at which point it stabilizes...it eventually will stay black unless the caps are replaced.

Mine does the same, how much would it cost for the caps and for it to get fixed. Is it a big job or just a small one?

have a great day!
Are the caps in question on the main board? got the same problem and some of the caps have a solid resistance. I basically had this problemhttps://youtu.be/qEdDu1D5oPA but now it just flashes the green led and goes back to standby. With a little flicker of white in a corner when it tries to turn on is that same problem describes here I have taken the main board out. I had tried changing the power board caps as that is a common problem but didn't work so I found this thread after digging deeper.
Cheers
