Solution: Perform a Fault Reset 14
Performing a Fault Reset 14 will reset your WorkCentre and will help to clear error codes.

Sharp AL2020 AL2040 AL2060 AL2080 H4 H-4 code reset procedure

In most cases the flashing H4 or H then 4 code on these machines is caused by voltage fluctuations or surges. Normally there is nothing wrong with the machine and the code is easily reset. Here is the procedure:<br /> Press the following key's in sequence and as quickly as possible (with 4 seconds for the first 4 keys) <br />Press "C" then the "Auto" key (exposure mode) then the "C" key then the "Auto" key again.<br />So in other words C, Auto, C, Auto<br />If done correctly the display should go blank.<br />Then key in 14 as if you were going to make 14 copies.<br />Now press the "print" button<br />The machine should automatically shut down and restart with the H4 code being gone.<br /> If the H4 code comes back after reset then in this case you have a fusing unit problem and will need to have the unit serviced. <br /> Works on Sharp AL series 2020 2040 2060 and 2080<br /> Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.<br />

An H4 code denotes a low temperature or temperature sensor failure problem with the fuser (the device that provides heat and pressure to bond the toner to paper). I have just downloaded and installed the version 2.20 of the software for the H4 from the Zoom site. It solved my problem and the H4-SD card now shows up in the Finder as expected.

Note that I formatted a spare SD card to do this update in order not to lose any existing sound files.
