Webcam on my toshiba netbook says its being used by another program

Instructions1 Take pictures independent of communications software on the Windows version of the netbook by using the webcam without connecting to networking software. Click the "Windows Start" menu and click "Acer Crystal Eye Webcam" in the Programs list. The webcam application should open and the camera should produce an initial warmup image. Use the buttons on the control panel to adjust image size or take photos.
2 Use the Instant Messenger program on the Acer Linux-based laptop or netbook to work the webcam. The Acer Instant Messenger program is available in the Connect folder on the Acer laptop's desktop screen.
3 To send and receive live video and pictures using your webcam on an Acer laptop, work the webcam through individual communications software, including Skype, Windows Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger, or Google Video Chat. Open your selected communications software program and click the webcam button to work your webcam.

Provided the drivers for the webcam are installed correctly, as they should be if you are using the software that was provided with the NC10 netbook, then you just need to start an application that uses the webcam....Samsung provide a program called 'Play Camera' with their Windows XP build but you can also use a messaging program such as Yahoo Messenger which lets you share a webcam.

Emachines em350 netbook has a built-in Webcam that located at the upper center of the screen. Its already program or install in the computer.

Yes, webcam is running on windows 7 also.

First, go to CONTROL PANEL then PROGRAMS click the UNINSTALL A PROGRAM then check if there are WEBCAM install then closed the folder.

You can also go to START then check if there are install program like WEBCAM.

How to use the built-in webcam? The integrated webcam can be used by third-party applications such as Yahoo Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger, Skype etc. Use the webcam button in the messenger software and it will automatically turn on and start the webcam.
Select models of Acer netbooks also ship with a program "Acer Crystal Eye Webcam". This program will enable the webcam immediately after startup and can be used to take pictures and record video.

For our Linux-based netbook, you can find the Instant Messenger program in the "Connect" section on the desktop . Additional software like Skype, are available through our special website for the Aspire One netbook. Within the "Fun" section of your Linux desktop, you will find a program called "Webcam" which can be used to test the built-in webcam.


Look for "Acer Crystal Eye Webcam" entry in the programs menu, then right click on the program icon and click on "Send to the desktop as a shortcut".

update the program ...if the webcam works fine on other IM programs ..it means that the msn is the problem ...

Download Yahoo Messenger and use it with the camera, that's what I use on mine.
