I have a kenmore washer model 110-24692300 and it has a series of problems. The biggest problem is that is takes about 4 hours to complete a load and the cycle is very mixed up. It will agitate before the tub is full and as a result the soap does not get rinsed very well. Any ideas for a potential quick and inexpensive fix?

SOURCE: kenmore stack washer and dryer

gabehart....sounds like belt is slipping. Replace it. The water pump is on a separate smaller motor so is not affected by the agitator/spin motor.

SOURCE: Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!

SOURCE: kenmore 80 series washer leaves soap residue on clothes no matter

After speaking with someone with trouble shooting experience in these matters, I now believe the problem lies NOT with the washer but with a bad batch of laundry detergent which fails to dissolve properly in the water.

I have a Kenmore 70 series Washing machine top load model 110 serial number 82870120 . where is the lint trap located and how to take out to clean? clothes have a lot of lint after being washed.

It is likely that a tissue or paper product was included with the wash load. The series 70 does not have a lint trap. At the hose connection to the house drain lint has been known to build up restricting the emptying. This buildup would not introduce lint into the washer.

If the water temperature is very very cold and you use powder detergent it will not dissolve completely into the water and will leave a white residue on the fabrics.

Try running a short load in the washer allowing for ample water to rinse out the machine before the next wash load.

Takes almost 2 hours to complete a wash cycle

Have you ever cleaned it out? Its likely due to a plugged drain, not allowing the system to drain fast enough for the normal cycle. Check out my solution on

Kenmore washer overheats and shuts off

It sounds like you have a bad timer. Your timer is basically a wheel that turn and opens and closes sets of contacts. Once these contacts go bad, they stick together. Your machine will basicall try to do a few things at once and over heat (hence the reason it works after it cools back down). A replacement timer should be availible from both your local appliance parts supplier and from the manufactures web site.
