There are no 4GB SD cards. "SD" cards larger than about 2GB are actually SDHC cards. SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but they are slightly different electrically. Many cameras won't work with SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.
Unfortunately you can't. The Z650 is designed to work with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card (the HC stands for High Capacity). While SDHC cards will fit into SD devices, they are electronically different and will not work.
SD cards will work in SDHC devices, but that doesn't help you here.
CX-series cameras accept SD and MMC Cards. A sdhc memory card will not work in your camera. Hopefully you can exchange it for an SD or MMC card. Good luck with that!
