I have an amana bc20tw refrigerator (bottom freezer) that is running all the time. The freezer is cold and the fridge is cold. Everything seems to be working normally except that the compressor and the evaporator fan seems to be running constantly. I looked at the evaporator coils and they have no frost on them.

Many times a freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong.

open the freezer door,do you hear the fan blowing around?it sounds like the evap fan motor isn't running and that's why it's cold on the bottom and not the top,you have to repair this fast or you'll loose your food in the fridge,the fan is what blows the cold air from the freezer to the fridge section.

try cleaning the condensor coils and let me know. how about a rating? thank you.

Your refrigerator probably has an issue with its "damper control assembly", which regulates cold air coming from the freezer compartment. Contact an appliance service company.

Accuracy is important --Use a digital thermometer to monitor freezer and fridge temps. Fridge should be around 40 and freezer around zero and then take it from there and draw conclusions

Keep in mind, your fridge 100% depends on the freezer. You have a defrost system problem most likely(see if icying up in the back wall of freezer). And if so, most likely defrost thermostat went bad.

the fan is locted in the freezer and it blows up to the ref and it sounds like the fan quit working and needs replace to check it the be for sure take the back panel off and with the ref running test the leads to the motor and make sure you have 110 volts if you do it is a bad motor
