Rgb connection stopped working on laptop

Instructions
    • 1 Decide if you want to watch the television on your computer or use the TV as a larger monitor. If you want to view the contents of the TV on your laptop, you need a video card connected to to the computer. These cards can either be inserted through the express PCI card slot on the laptop, or via USB cable. Make sure the video tuner card supports component video.
    • 2 Connect the DVI-to-component cable into the DVI port if you want to use the TV as a large monitor for your laptop. However, if you have a VGA port, plug the VGA-to-component cable into the VGA port.
    • 3 Plug the RGB component cables into the component side of the DVI- or VGA-to-component cable. If you want to watch the TV on your computer, insert the RGB cables into the TV video card.
    • 4 Plug the other end of the RGB component cables into the TV. If you are using the TV as a monitor, plug the cables into the "Component In" ports. However, if you are sending the TV signal to the computer, plug the cables into the "Component Out" port (the other end of the DVI- or VGA-to-component cable that you connected to your computer in Step 2).
    • 5 Power on the TV. If you are using the TV as a computer monitor, press the "Video" button until "Component Video" appears on the screen. If you are watching TV on your computer, launch the television viewing software that came with the TV tuner card. You can now see the contents of the TV on your computer.

Ibm thinkpad wont connect to LG TV

Lower the screen resolution to 720 dpi.

Another issue is the reference to RGB. Is it the 3 cable (YPBPR) or the standard 15 pin VGA? You may need a converter.

How to turn on rgb from lap top to tv.

In order to connect your laptop to your TV using RGB, you need an RGB adapter. RGB is also known as component video; it breaks up a video signal into red, green and blue. laptops do not have RGB outputs. However, many laptops have VGA, DVI or HDMI outputs. An RGB adapter connects the single VGA, DVI, or HDMI cable to an RGB cable, which is actually three different cables tied together. INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Connect either the VGA, DVI or HDMI (in the order of increasing video quality) cable to the VGA, DVI or HDMI port on your laptop, depending on what is available. 2. Connect the other end of the cable to the side of the RGB adapter with the single input. 3. Connect the RGB cables to the red, green and blue ports on the other side of the RGB adapter. 4. Connect the other end of the RGB cables to an available component input on the back of the TV. 5. Tune the TV to the component video input you used through your television's menu. 6. Turn on your laptop. The laptop should now display on your TV screen.

You need to tell your laptop to send the video signal to your rgb output interface by using your function keys. Usually Fn+F2 or F8.

Want to connect my Sony vaio VGN-A250 to Sharp 19'' LCD TV

Your laptop will have a VGA output or possibly a S-video out. For the VGA you'll need a standard VGA cable. Plug the cable in to your laptop and the PC input of your TV. If your TV does not have PC input it may have a DVI input. IF it does you can use a VGA/DVI adapter to plug it in. If it doesn't have a DVI input you can use the S-Video output on your laptop with a standard S-video cable. After the connection to your TV is made you will have to toggle alternate display by pressing and holding your [Fn] key and pressing F4, or F5, or another F# key. It's the one that looks like a TV screen. Press once to turn on output, press again to turn off your laptop screen, press again to go back to laptop screen only

How do I connect my Laptop computer to my LCD TV?

Every laptop has at least a VGA (computer video connection) and s-video cable port. A VGA cable is preferred if you want to be able to read text on your LCD TV. Check to make sure that your LCD TV has a VGA connector. It's a port that accepts a 15-pin connection so it's pretty easy to spot if it's there. It's just like a computer monitor cable if that helps. Should be able to find it at any local retail store that carries computers. VGA or RGB cable.
