Bought a Model A412 from a friend. Set up Washer last night. Turned on Knob to determine which was hot and cold water, allowed about two inches to accumulate in the bottom. Wife then allowed washer to fill up, and added clothes. Now the knob is not doing anything in any position, and the tub is full of water and clothes. Any idea what may have happened?

Maybe lid switch is bad. I think that model has a fuse in the switch assembly if I remember correctly.

SOURCE: amana washer won't fill with water

1st I checked the power, compressor in garage had tripped the breaker to the washer circuit. This model has no bells or whistles to tell you if the power is on to the unit. Reset the breaker and unit works.

SOURCE: washer wont allow cold water

Mixing valve should lock out the hot water when on the cold water setting. Either your hoses are crossed, or the mixing valve is flipped. To see if one of these is true, try it on a hot water setting to see if cold water comes in, or try just swapping the water hoses.

SOURCE: Kenmore washer 80 series model 110.22892100 only

so if you set the knob to cold then the knob would automatically move to hot correct first thing to do is check the water valve which is where your hot and cold hoses connect to inside the machine you get to this from inside the machine by removing the cover one side f the valve is hot and one side is cold take a multi meter and check to assure that when you do set the selection to cold that you are getting power to the top of the valve on the cold side if you are not getting any power to the cold side of the valve replace the valve if you are getting power to the cold side the next thing t check would be that switch that is your selector nob for this you would have to go into the area where your timer is located and check for any burn spots on the small electronic piece that is on the back side of the switch most of the time it is the valve that goes bad and it is a rarity that the switch would go bad but it is possible please remember to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation and if you have anymore questions please message me back have a great day

I pull the knob to do a regular wash and nothing happens, no water no agitation. However, when I turn the knob to rinse it that works. This suddenly happened, was working before. Is it the knob?

Rinse on most washers is cold water your wash cycles can be cold hot and even warm. Problem You may have is a bad water feed valve Or Timer and possible bad wire harness at motor to timer
check water valve Turn washer to regular wash cycle pull knob on will washer fill ?
if water starts to fill then change washer temp if washer has this.
if water comes out on all settings water valve is fine.
Check the water both hot and cold that it is turned on;at faucet.
Your Kenmore Most likely has a bad water valve check for hot water side clog or not working.

Will only pull water in if knob turned to hot

You will need to replace the "water inlet valve". The cold side is not allowing the cold water thru. Here is the part to order.

The washer is set on cold/cold. The hot water faucet is turned off. The washer should not be asking for hot water because it is set to cold/cold. It asks for and received cold water. At some point...

Newer machines know the water temperature. It will mix hot water even on a cold setting if the incoming water is too cold. Detergents need a temperature of at least 60 to activate. This will only happen in the winter usually.

Just hooked up our LG washer given to us by my sister in law, it is only a few years old. When we hooked it up and turned on the water it started running into the machine. the power was not on. What could...

Bad water fill valve. (the part the hose screws onto at the back of the machine) The hot one is seperate from the cold fill valve, so you will need to determine which is not working: ie allowing water to enter machine when not on. (cold has several solonoid coils, the hot only has one) To get to the valves, If this is a front control model, remove the screws from the bottom side of the plastic part on the back side of the washer top, then stand in front of the machine and use the palms of your hands to sharply push back on the sides of the washer's top. It will move back about one and a half inches, then you can lift it off. If you have a rear control unit, you have to remove the 4 screws holding the soap dispenser in, unhook the dispenser from the washer top, and use a putty knife to release the spring clips (2) at the seam where the washer top meets the washer's front panel, then you can swing the top up and back.

Hot water not going into washing machine

hi there,
try the following, it may help:

Some washing machines allow hot water to enter only during certain cycles. Others intermittently
allow hot and cold to enter, to temper the temperature of the water. Consult your owner's manual
if you are unsure about whether the machine is acting abnormally.

If you're sure the machine isn't working the way it used to--or should--try these tests:

* Is the hot water turned on? If not, turn it on.

* Is the washer getting cold water but no hot water? If so, check to see if the control panel
settings are correct.

MY HAIER A/C IS NOT GETTING COLD

I have a fairly new Haier Air Condition that I bought last year, it has been working good up until last night. I keep this one in my bedroom and put it on every night since the summer. Last night I woke up very warm, the temp reading was 75 the AC did nothing but blow out just air. I threw away the booklet on it because I've had no problem up until now. Does anyone know how I can make it cold again. HELP!!!!

GE Washer wbsr3140d5ww water problem

Hello Chad
Welcome

Sounds like the cold water knob or switch is not switching and may be faulty.

I have a problem with my washer
For some reason when I try to start the washer and I have it set to cold it does not work if I put it to hot then its fine
The cold water does work though because if I change the washer to a later cycle cold water comes out just fine.
So it almost seems like its the timer knob
any ideas?
Thanks
