SOURCE: lenovo G550 touchpad scroll bar does not work with

I had this same problem. This is how I solved it:
1. Install the touch-pad driver from Lenovo's website, but remember which folder it installed into
2. Go into the device manager, it's located in the control panel, and click on mice and other pointing devices, then on the mouse device
3. In the mouse device window, go to drivers, then update driver, then say locate manually, then find the folder you installed the drivers to
4. Restart and try the scroll wheel

SOURCE: how to change touchpad settings for lenovo g550, I

You really can't do much with settings for a touchpad. I would recommend disabling it and using a wireless mouse. var fctb_tool=null; function FCTB_Init_c6f64f985d3644929e3995eea1c55206(t) { fctb_tool=t; start(fctb_tool); } var fctb_tool=null; function FCTB_Init_d35d1f3861484992b99b0e9345d90151(t) { fctb_tool=t; start(fctb_tool); }

Hi rbdav1,

Based on your situation. I suggest trying the following steps:

1. Download touchpad driver from here:

http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/us/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_list.aspx?CategoryID=600154

2. go to Touchpad section and make sure you select the Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 version of the drivers that matches your Windows operating system.

3. After downloading the touchpad driver driver install it and then restart your computer.

4. Log back in to your computer then go to control panel --> open mouse properties then look for Alps pointing device tab.

5. Under Alps tab uncheck tap off when typing.

Hope it helps.

Hi. You need to install a new touchpad driver for you touchpad. This is a common issue for this unit. you may download this driver to this link. Once you have it installed in the system. Go to the sysnaptics software and look for a box that says "tap off when typing". Put a check mark on that box then you are good to go.

Have a nice day!
