Hi, I have a toshiba laptop that is 2 years old. The problem is that when i plug my charger while my laptop is on, my laptop either restarts and freezes or it directly freezes. I have tried new original battery. Also new charger, original. No help. I can charge my battery fine when laptop is off. I let it looked and they diagnosed that it was a software problem and not hardware. I want to install windows 7 but i cant do that unless charger is plugged in. Can somebody please help me...? Thnx

Toshiba satellite L355-S7812 keeps restarting when AC Adapter is plugged in

Hi Craig,

The car adapter may be the culprit.

If it's not the adapter recommended by Toshiba, than You are heading the quick way to pickling your Laptop.

Always use the brand recommended for you PC/Laptop.

Toshiba L305 wont hold charge

I will suspect the battery first. I make sure the battery I reseat the battery, make sure the charger is well plugged in and no damage to the cable. The next step is that I would test with a known good battery and if the problem still persist test with a known good AC charger. If the battery and AC charger and its cable/cord are determined to be good I will be thinking of big/expensive issue with main board which may not worth the trouble if the laptop is relatively old like 2 years

I have a Toshiba U500 00X laptop with 19V power supply which I do not have with me at the moment. I do have an ASUS 19V AC adapter with positive terminal on the inside of the circular plug. The diagram on...

Hi, what your toshiba laptop model and asus laptop model? You can use the asus ac adapter on your toshiba laptop only if the folllowing three conditions are met:
1) Output Voltage is within +/- 5% of your old charger's output.

For example, if your old charger provides 19V, then you can use a charger that provides 20.5V or 18.5V.

2) Output Current is the same or higher than that of your old charger.

For example, if your original adapter provides 3.42 Amps, then you can use a charger that provides 3.42 Amps, 3.9 Amps or higher.

3) Connector tip must fit securely into your laptop.

For the specifications of the two adapters, you may check it here:

Hi,
I had same problem with my Sattelite L300. Motherboard has a defect in one Proadlizer film capacitor exactly on the back of CPU, the original ref. is nec-tokin 0E907 (900uF/2.5V) or similar code. I've replaced it by 4 tantalum capacitores of 470uF/2.5V each and 2 capacitores of 220uF/2.5V, all in paralell mode in same old place of nec-tokin component.

Hi I have toshiba A200 satelite laptop, for the past two weeks my system gets restarted often, like when i unplug charger pin, when i boot my system. Is it mobtherboard problem.

More likely a battery problem. When you plug in or unplug the AC, there has to be a current surge from the battery to fill a couple of capacitors. If the battery is low, that will cause a failure and restart. How old is the battery. They never last more than 3 years.

Plugged in, not charging toshiba

Turn off computer, take out charger, then try taking the battery out of the laptop (located at the bottom of the laptop) or side then re-insert and turn on laptop and plug charger back in. Hope this works! if not you either need a new charger or new battery, I suggest u find someone with a toshiba charger to test if it is a problem with the charger or your battery! keep me posted! and good luck

Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527 Charger problem

Get another laptop.

The A135 is a lemon.

Problem is either with the dc jack on the board or more than likely the motherboard is damaged.

I've repaired a number of A135's and 95% of the time motherboard had to be replaced.

Sorry for the bad news, but I hope this helps.

Toshiba Laptop A205-S4577 won't start up

If the battery is removed, it should still start up with the charger connected. A lot of laptops develope problems with the jack where the power supply plugs in, from constantly plugging & unplugging the charger. The jack in the back of the computer is probably bad.
