Hi there,

The little tyke has most likely pressed the INPUT button on the remote control and switched the TV away from the external input setting required for watching cable TV.

You did not state the model number of the TV and some TVs function differently with regard to the selection of external inputs, but you should be able to return to watching cable by pressing the INPUT button slowly but repeatedly until you can see the picture from the cable channels again. The INPUT button is located in the top right corner of your Element remote.

If an input selection menu appears on screen when you first press the menu button, use the arrow keys to highlight another input, then press ENTER to select it. I can't tell you which will be the correct input as I don't know the model number of the TV and it depends on which type of cable you are using to connect the TV to the cable box. You should try each input in turn until you are able to see the cable channels again. Please make sure the cable box is switched on when doing this!

If you are still having difficulty, please reply to me from within this page with the model number of the TV and the type of cable you are using to connect the cable box to the TV. I will then be able to provide exact instructions for switching your TV back to the cable input.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
BElectric

I have Philips television when I try to change the channel from my cable media remote there is message coming as “only effect on tv” plus when I try to change the channel from my cable remote it’s...

That probably means you need a new remote. Or new batteries. The blinking light means it's trying to turn on but failed to do so because it's dead or old.

Everytime I press remote channel 3 keeps showing up

A television set usually receives a signal from a cable box, DVD player, etc., on a specific TV channel. Channel 3 is the most commonly used for this purpose. So when you press certain buttons on the remote, the TV tells you "Hey! Somebody selected TV Channel 3!" This is normal-- IF the remote you're using is a remote for the cable box, DVD, etc. If you get this and you don't have a cable box or other signal source, then something else is wrong... maybe you're using the wrong remote?

If the remote sensor inside the tv stops working...is there something i can get....a box or something to change channels with another device..some tv cable can go thru before to tv so if tv is on a certain...

Check your remote control for its proper working first. Then think of the remote sensor inside your TV. To get more details about how to check remote control, click this link.
If remote control is Ok, replace the infrared sensor, which can be located just behind the infrared sensor window of your Tv. You have to open your TV, and desolder it out and solder a new one in position. The infrared sensor will look like these. There are sevieral types, and just confirm which type is used in your TV. Picures of some types are attached.

Using my universal remote contol, lost sound on 2 TV channels

The solution is to change the audio input from SAP (secondary audio programming - default on TV sets sold in Canada) to Stereo or Mono. Your remote will need to be able to access the "Menu" settings screen for your television set.
