Frigidaire Affinity ATF7000E Front Load Washer Logo
Posted on Jan 28, 2011

I just cleaned the filter on my affinity washer located underneath the drum. After I put it all back together and plugged it in nothing lights up. There is power in the outlet and the water and drain are connected. Any ideas?

Did you reconnect the plug(s) for the control panel? There is a really good video on youtube that shows you how to take the Affinity apart and put it back together.

Hi footitrncs- Here are some generics instructions on how to clean out the pump. I advise to please be very cautions.

1. Unplug the unit.

2. Tilt the unit up to where the front feet are in the air and the back feet are still on the ground. Please make sure the unit is propped up safely.

3. Now that the unit is propped up look inside on the bottom right hand side there is a black looking accordion thing. This is the coin trap.

4. Clean the drum out with as much water as possible and have towels ready. The next step you will have the remaining water come out.

5. At the top of the coin trap where it is attached to the drum is a silver spring with a silver screw. Loosen the screw and wiggle the coin trap down from the drum.

5. Reach inside the coin trap and clean what is inside of it out.

6. Put the unit back together following the same steps backwards

However, if you are looking to replace the pump completely, I strongly suggest consulting a professional for further assistance due to the difficult location of the pump itself.

Diagram to show pump filter on an affinity

Hello - After further researching it does not seem that there is an actual diagram available. However you may try the following steps to clean out the coin trap on an Affinity washer. Please be very cautious and it is actually recommended for this to be done by an actual certified technician.

1. Unplug the unit.

2. Tilt the unit up to where the front feet are in the air and the back feet are still on the ground. Please make sure the unit is propped up safely.

3. Now that the unit is propped up look inside on the bottom right hand side there is a black looking accordion thing. This is the coin trap.

there is an access panel on the back of the unit. 6 screws and on the bottom is a rubber hose that comes from the tub. inside that rubber hose is a filter cup. i have the same unit and mine did the same thing. took it out pulled clog out put it back together. works like a charm. hard to get at but you can do it. use a drill with a phillips head to make it quicker. Also have pliers and a pair of channel locks. Good luck and it aint the Timer TRUST ME

Plug off the mains. The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the drain pipe you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a good plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully.
On some models the filter is located ‘inside’ the big hose from the bottom of the tub. This takes more time to clean. Check out your pump too, comes after the filter; there could be anything clogging the impeller.
Check motor brushes, if less than one centimetre long, replace.

Frigidaire Affinity E20 error code

This issue is a clogged drain. It usually requires cleaning out the Drain filter underneath the drum assembly in your washer. If you are not handy, don't try this yourself, it will require some skill.

The drain filter is clogged. I had the same problem. There is a filter inside the "drain boot" (black) that comes from the drum to the drain pump. Mine was completely clogged with money, lint, etc..
