I have a Kenmore 90 series washing machine model number 110 20902990, it will work in every cycle, meaning it ads water no problem, agitates fine, drains, rinses, spins, if started on these cycles. When I start washing on Permanent Press II, it will add water, agitates fine for literally 2 minutes and it will stops, I can hear the dialer clicking as if it is going to change cycle but it just stops dead. I have tried this many times with the same result. It will work if I move the dialer forward a little bit but then it does whatever. Like rinses more than twice when I have the Rinse Option set to One Rinse, sometimes it spins non stop. Where it says pause and cool down on the dialer it rinses then where it says rinse it spins, like as if it is off cycle.

SOURCE: Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!

SOURCE: my series 90 washing machine stops midway through the rinse cycle

Hi, faulty timer motor or timer, knob you turn for different cycles (programs) , it's called timer, that timer usually run by small motor, and sometimes burnt out, could be electronic too, remove top back panel, look at timer, you'll see small motor, attached by two small screws, remove motor, place ohm tester lead, and check for continuity. if motor is burnt out, replace it, if your timer is electronic, you will have to replace complete timer, good luck.

No you have a problem with the agitator cam assy. You can easily fix this yourself for $10.00 or less. You need to order or pick up an agitator repair kit. it will come with a new cam , 4 directional cogs (dog ears),and bearing, Simply remove the fabric dispenser on top of the agitator twist and pull ,then remove pull up on the agitator barrier cap (use soap to lube seal when reinstalling) remove the 7/16 bolt retaining the top part of the agitator.remove top part, pay attention to how the cam and dogs come out.. Install new parts and reverse order. with a little luck you should be done in 15 to 20 minutes and have a working machine Good Luck

Kenmore Series 90 washing machine, won't start cycle

First, see the Sears Parts site for your washer:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=110.26912691&pathTaken=partSearch

Next, see the Whirlpool / Kenmore Service manual for top load, direct drive washers:

https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/f7e2147fa98b28cf85257122007475cb/$FILE/L-55.pdf

I hate to say it but it sounds like a Timer problem.

I'd use the troubleshooting section of the Service Manual and the timer testing procedures to confirm the problem.

Note that there are two types of timers with different procedures to remove them.

Also see the following for how to release the console for access to the timer and other controls.

My wahing machine (Kenmore 90 series, toploading) won't go past the agitate cycle.

After agitate - the next cycle is drain.
Nothing would prevent this from happening in the logic sequence except a faulty timer.

Sears website or repairclinic.com will have the timer when you enter the full model number.

Kenmore 90 series with speed selector switch set to heavy duty cycle it works fine any other setting , regular , hand wash setting the agitator makes a loud clicking sound as it agitates

sounds like a transmition problem. does the noise happen when it goes into spin on the other settings? If no noise in the spin cycle on the other setting, then it sounds like a the gears in the transmition internally when bad for the agitation.
