I ordered a new screw plate to put on my stand mixer (where the bowl fits on). The new one will not fit - the screw holes match but the new plate has a lip around it whereas the old didn't. Do you have to force it on? Thanks for your help.

Here is the correct part for your mixer:

If this is what you odered then it will fit. It might be it only fits in one position so rotate it until it goes in. It is a snug fit so make sure the base is cleaned out of any flour etc, then press it into place.

A scre to fix bgh stsnd mixer

If there is another screw on the mixer that fits were you are missing a screw, take it out, put it in an a reclosable plastic bag so it doesn't get lost, and take it to the hardware store to get a matching screw. Get a stainless steel screw if possible. Avoid cadmium-plated hardware; it should not be used around food (cadmium plating has a yellowish color).

If the missing screw has a knob on it for use without tools, you may have to substitute a wing screw. It may be necessary to take the mixer to the hardware store to be sure of a good match.

My kitchen aid stand mixer startnig making noise and wobbling. I noticed that the pin attaching the top to the base has been pushed out halfway and I can't push it back. Any solutions?

Remove the bowl, turn it upside down on a towel, look up inside the pedestal. Right in the middle where the hinge pin goes through there is a screw, unscrew it a little, push the hinge pin back to where it belongs and then tighten the screw up tight. Turn mixer up the right way, raise head up, fit bowl & flat paddle. Lower head & turn machine on low, listen for paddle tinging on bowl, if it is touching turn off and raise the head. Look into hinge area from the front, that screw is the head height adjustment. Clockwise to lower paddle in bowl, anti clockwise to raise. You want to lower it until you hear the paddle tinging on the bowl & then raise it enough to clear without tinging. You don't wind the screw in & out huge amounts, 1/4 to 1/2 a turn at a time is plenty.

BBeater scraping back bottom of bowl

Is the planetary still off before the taper pin is in place?

It's a shot in the dark but if everything lines up, I can think of two possibilities:

1. The taper pin in backwards, and
2. The shaft hole in the planetary is out of round.

My kitchen aid mixer bowl falls out when I'm mixing

Hello Heather,

Either the grooves on the bowl lock plate are worn out, or the grooves on the actual bowl are worn out. I would start with replacing the bowl lock plate. Here is a link to the part: KitchenAid Mixer Bowl Lock Plate 4163032

This part is really easy to replace, it is held into place with three screws, remove those screws (make sure to hang onto those you will need them to re-install the new part). then you should be able to pop the old plate out. To install the new plate like up the screw holes, and press into place, sometimes you need to lightly tap it into place with a rubber mallet as it is suppose to be a very tight fit.

Once that has been replaced your bowl should lock into place tightly. However there is always a chance that the bowl has been worn down and may need to be replaced. Here is a link to the 4.5 Quart bowl: KitchenAid 4 5 Quart Stainless Steel Bowl

Does anyone know the model number of a stainless steel bowl to fit the Kenwood Chef KM300/

The model number doesn't really exist other than the fact that the stainless steel bowl is available for just about every Chef made. My own KM300 has a stainless steel bowl for example that came as standard - it however is the same bowl you can order from Kenwood or EBay under the A701/A901 model - all bowls from Kenwood can be fitted on the Chef model with the exception of the Major model which is a larger and taller machine.

I can't get the bowl onto my KitchenAid Pro mixer

Hi. I'll give you the cheap/fast solution first. Get a 2-3 ft. section of metal pipe that will fit over the bent arm, gradually, incrementaly and slowly bend the arm out using the pipe. check it at each increment for fit and level.

Now for the more expensive/slow solution. Find the nearest Kitchenaid "approved" repair service store. You will then be looking at a replacement bowl support and the labour to repair it. Be prepared to wait for up to a month for Kitchenaid to fill the parts order. If you find that these solutions have assisted you, please rate them. Good luck! ricardok45

Kitchen aid heavy duty 325 watts mixer won't turn on

On my K5SS mixer, the brushes are aligned with the sliced off corner at 11 o'clock on the left and at 5 o'clock on the right. So the real key is in the suggestion from Mazlynn detailing the use of a flashlight to determine where the little tabs are located inside the brush holders.
