Its possible. This one has two, located underneath. Lean the machine back to check them. Make sure all pulleys turn freely before replacing them

It is a complete tear down to replace the main tub bearing. The bearing comes pressed in the rear shell, oversized shipping on part. If the inner basket spindle is froze or badly pitted or groved it is another expensive part, The repair is about two or three hours depending on how easy things come apart and how much working room there is if it is done in your house. So yes it is expensive to repair, and not a easy decision,

BELT IS LOOSING TENSION CAUSING IT TO SMOKE REPLACE BELT

If you remove the motor control board, you will probably see burnt spot on the board.Board and motor need to be replaced, pretty expensive repair.

Check the lower motor control board. See www.neptunehelp.com for disassembly pictures. It is possible you will need to replace the motor control board and motor if you have the original one as Maytag has redesigned these two components due to reliability issues. The new motor conversion kit is part # 12002039.

If there are any burnt components on this board then it will have to be replaced. There is also a 10 amp fusesoldered to the board. if this fuse blows the tub will not move anymore and the motor control board / motor will have to be replaced.

Have you noticed your Neptune's spin cycle getting loud? If so, the seal kit and bearings need to be replaced. See www.neptunebearing.com for more info on the special bearing tool kit you can rent that includes use of a DVD that shows you how to disassemble Neptune, replace bearings and install the seal kit.

I don't know if your machine is the Neptune series. If it is, there is a culprit called the wax motor in the door switch assembly that shorts out and fries the r11 resistor on the control circuit board. This could cast as much as $250 to replace the wax motor and control circuit board. It may be better to look for a new machine if it is many years old. If not, you may be able to justify such expensive repairs.

Yes the wax motor does need tobe changed at the same time.If you see the burnt spot, your control board has got to be replaced (Maytag insists that the door latch wax motor is partly to blame ,so they've modified it and in the last 6 years there have only been a few Neptunes that this problem re occurred after changing these 2 parts

yes, but 900 is a little high for my area. is it loud in spin now? the seal can be replaced for about 50-80 part labor is 1 to 3 hours. if you just smelled the smoke and it is not loud you are ok for a long time, reduce load size and it will probly be ok for some time
