http://www.usbman.com/WebDrivers/WinMe%20Sys%20Files/usbntmap.sys
http://www.usbman.com/WebDrivers/WinMe%20Sys%20Files/usbstor.sys
http://www.usbman.com/WebDrivers/WinMe%20Sys%20Files/usbui.dll
Put all these files in one folder and when windows ask for the drivers, select the option to manually serach for the drivers. And point the search to the folder where you saved these files and it should fix the problem.
If this does'nt work, please let me know.
SOURCE: 4GB Attache flash drive says it's locked.
Plug in the stick. wait for it to come up on the desktop then click on it once. (do not open it).
From the file menu select "Get Info"
In the panel that opens up you will see a row of coloured squares. Underneath is a checkbox marked "Locked"
Is it empty or ticked?
If it's ticked, untick and see what happens in disk utility.
If it's not ticked that then would appear to be a problem with the stick.
For what it's worth, I did a google on this stick and found that there are numerous posts about it becoming read only on Vista, so it may well be a problem with the manufacturer.
