FROST COLLECTS ON TOP
Hi, rewolff. The problem you're experiencing, with your dehumidifier is usually caused by basic things. That can be fairly easy to solved:
1. Air intake filter is either dirty or clogged: Turn the unit OFF & Unplug it before removing the filter.
Be sure the filter is completely dry, before reinstalling it.
2. Refrigerant cooling coils are dirty aand need to be cleaned. This will require removing the face of
the unit, to access the coils. They should be cleaned with warm water and dish washing liquid.
Then rinsed and thoroughly dried. After they are dry apply a light coat of WD40 to the coils.
3. Air obstruction. The unit requires a minimum of 12" clear air space on all four sides of the unit.
4. If the unit is being operated in a basement, the air temperature at floor level is colder then the air
temperature at floor level. Unless, your unit is a "Low Temp" model, getting the unit up off the
floor, on to a sturdy table, cabinet top, etc, that is sturdy enough to handle the weight of the unit,
plus a full tank of water, will usually resolve the problem.
Your model has been discontinued by LG, but they still support it. So, if none of the above solves the problem, contact LG Customer Service for more detailed trouble shooting at 1-800-243-0000.
I do hope this helped you to do your own troubleshooting and hopefully solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.
