I have a Samsung model RS253BAWW side by side I no longer can get water out of the cold water supply in the door. I changed the water filter and that did not cure my problem. When I changed the filter, I heard water come into the filter. The ice maker continues to work fine. Can you help me solve this problem ? Thank You Duane Hall

Not enough water pressure in supply line to get past filter?
Open valve feeding supply line more and see what happens.

E1: Water Supply Error

-Display Shows 'E1'

-Water Supply Error occurs when water level frequency does not show changes more than 100Hz or water is not supplied up to the water level presetting for 20 minutes or more at the time of initial water supply.

-To help fix this problem please check the Hot and Cold water intakes, there is a filter screen in each input valve, remove and clean these filters. ** Make sure you replace the filters, they are very important for the operation of the Washing Machine.**

-The error status can be cleared by turning POWER S/W OFF and resuming the POWER ON initial status.

The water filter is located in the fresh food or fridge side of the appliance, at the rear - in the upper right hand corner.



To change the filter, open the fridge door, clear the top shelf and grasp the filter. All that is needed is to turn the filter to the left about a 1/4 turn for it to drop down. A few drops of water may spill onto the shelf. To install a replacement, remove the protective cover (shown as a red cap above), and position under opening for filter. Gently push upward while turning the filter to the right. The filter will pop in, and as you turn about 1/4 of the way around, it will be drawn up a small amount until seated. At this point it will no longer turn any further.

The water "Filter Indicator" light

• "Filter Indicator" light lets you know when it is time to change your water filter cartridge. The light
will change from green to orange. This tells you that it is almost time to change the current cartridge.
It is recommended that you replace the cartridge when the light changes to red. (see "Install the water filter" section for more information)
• If you install water filter, throw away the first six glassfulls of water filter, or until water flows clearly to flush impurities in the water supply system.


Using the dispenser without the water filter

• You can not use the water and ice dispenser without a water filter cartridge because the water line
blocks at water supply.

This link will take you to the Samsung support site. There you can find the instructions for replacing the filter....if the filter is not properly aligned, the water bypasses the filter

The instruction book suggests this could be because the freezer temperature is set too low. Mine is set at -20C. It says the water line can freeze stopping water flow. Try reducing the temperature.

The ice maker is not producing ice or not enough ice


Refrigerator connected to a water supply and the supply
shutoff valve turned on? Connect refrigerator to water
supply and turn water shutoff valve fully open.

Kink in the water source line? A kink in the line can reduce
water flow. Straighten the water source line.

Ice maker turned on? Make sure wire shutoff arm or switch
(depending on model) is in the ON position.

New installation? Wait 24 hours after ice maker installation
for ice production to begin. Wait 72 hours for full ice
production.

Large amount of ice recently removed? Allow 24 hours for
ice maker to produce more ice.

Ice cube jammed in the ice maker ejector arm?
Remove ice from the ejector arm with a plastic utensil.

Reverse osmosis water filtration system connected to
your cold water supply? This can decrease water pressure

OR
The water dispenser will not operate properly


Freezer door closed completely? Close the door firmly. If it
does not close completely, see “The doors will not close
completely.”

Refrigerator connected to a water supply and the supply
shutoff valve turned on? Connect refrigerator to water
supply and turn water shutoff valve fully open.

Is the water pressure at least 30 psi? The water pressure to
the home determines the flow from the dispenser. See “Water
Supply Requirements.”

Kink in the home water source line? Straighten the water
source line.

New installation? Flush and fill the water system.

Water filter installed on the refrigerator? The filter may be
clogged or incorrectly installed.

Is a reverse osmosis water filtration system connected to
your cold water supply?

Flush air from the water system the first time it is used and after replacing the filter. Air trapped in the water line or filter may slowly travel through the coiled water reservoir to the dispenser, pushing any water ahead of it. This can cause the dispenser to drip. Water needs to completely fill the lines for all air to be cleared.

• Use a sturdy container to press and hold the water dispenser bar for 5 seconds, then release it for 5 seconds. Repeat until the water begins to flow. Once the water begins to flow, continue pressing and releasing the dispenser bar (5 seconds on, 5 seconds off) for an additional 2 minutes. Repeat if dripping starts again because air can re-enter from the water supply.
• As air is cleared from the system, water may spurt from the water dispenser.
• Make sure the refrigerator is connected to a cold water supply.

One or two drops of water immediately after dispensing is normal. It may be necessary to hold the container under the dispenser for 2 to 3 seconds after releasing the dispenser lever.
