The softner not getting drained only the soap is getting used

Where are you putting the fabric softener and when do you put it in? If your washer has a fabric softener dispenser, use it at the start of your wash. Leave the lid closed until cycle is completed. No dispenser? Pour diluted fabric softener in the rinse cycle or the second time water fills the washer.

How to add fabric softner to the amana washer with locking lid

Check and see if there is a cup in the top of the agitator. Some machines have you put it there, turning back and forth during wash doesn't bother it, but the spin to empty the wash water causes the softener to go out through slots in the top of the cup and be held in the agitator. when it stops the softener drains into the tub, ready for the rinse cycle.

Takes almost 2 hours to complete a wash cycle

Have you ever cleaned it out? Its likely due to a plugged drain, not allowing the system to drain fast enough for the normal cycle. Check out my solution on

Washer leaves fabric softner stain on white clothes

Dispenser wholes are probably clogged and all the softener is not dumping when it is supposed to!. Top loaders usually have a little cup like place to add the softener in the top of the agitator!
Those the Manuel tells you to rinse with water occasionally!

If you can't figure it out, call service and get it done and over!
You will feel better!!!

Whirlpool duet fabric softner problem

It obviously is backed up or splashed in from the wash. And if it is just water why worry about it.
