Look for a rubber grommet coming from the base, where tube will fit. This is for the defrost drain.

Not freezing breads and ice cream?

You're running a little warm in the freezer section. Put a thermometer in there. Typically, you should be around 0 degrees Fahrenheit.

Check that the condenser coils are clean, and that the condenser fan (the one near the compressor on the backside of the machine) is working. The compressor should be fairly hot to the touch, but not burning hot.

Is there any frost building up on the back wall of the freezer section, and is there room for air flow around the vents? That could restrict the air flow through the coils, also causing warmer temperatures in the freezer. If so, that would point to a different defrost issue.

Feel free to comment back so I can send you in the correct direction.

Danby fridge old model - freeze working but fridge section does not

Yes it has a fan you should here it and feel it. It sounds like your defrost coil may have gone out. Take the back pannel of the freezer off and see if it is clogged with frost.

Freezer not cold enough

setting the freezer at 7 opens the baffle from the freezer to the fridge to make the fridge colder. It works completely opposite than a person would think. Feel in the back of the fridge with it on this setting. The freezer is dumping all its cold air into the fridge thus equalizing the two parts. if you move the selector to 1, you should feel the air from the freezer cut off in the fresh food compartment. try a setting in the middle and let sit for 24 hours. Hope this helps

Whirlpool freezer won't freeze

you need to send the model number so i can see what fridge you have,is it a side by side freezer on top or bottom.check the back inside wall of the freezer to see if any ice or like snow is on the back inside wall of the freezer,if so you have a defrost problem,if it's a top freezer is there any water leaking into the fridge section, check under the crisper draws,if water is there you could have a blocked drain in the freezer, the water that's from the defrost mode leaks into the air ducts and freezes,or you could have a freon leak in the sealed system, remove the inside back wall of the freezer and check the frost pattern on the evap coil,if there's frost just on the top of the coil and nowhere else on the coil you have a freon leak, one more thing you could have a bad evap fan motor, open the freezer door, you should hear the fan blowing around, open the freezer door and push and hold the door or light switch in for a minute and then let it out,if the fan doesn't run it could be bad.the last thing is the compressor isn't running and you're hearing the condenser fan running and not the compressor, the start device on the compressor could be bad, feel the compressor,is it hot and feel it to make sure it's running.so bad start device, freon leak, defrost problem or bad evap fan motor or condenser motor.if you get back to me and let me know what you find and send the model number i can help you better.

open the doors and feel the middle strip.if that's hot check the condenser fan to make sure it's running and clean out the coil in the back.pull out the machine, remove the bottom panel,on the right side you'll see the coil, with a shop vac vac off the coil and then put it on blow and blow out the coil, that's the only way to clean this kind of coil and make sure the fan is blowing back there.let me know what you find, also send the full model number, open the fridge door, look at the right wall near the ceiling and you should see the model number.

My Kenmore 9 upright freezer feels warm on the outside, what could be the cause. I have defrosted and cleaned it already and seems to work fine. however i am concerned with the outside temperature. Please...

Hi,

This is normal. The condenser coils on freezers are typically located in the walls.

The refrigerator in your kitchen has condenser coils that are hot either under the frig or on the back. Freezers do not need as much heat transfer on the coils with the air so they put them in the walls, it is called a warm wall condenser. It may even feel hot to the touch if you happen to feel it near the end of a cooling cycle. It will be the warmest close to the compressor and cool off at it makes it around the cabinet down to the other side.

Not getting cold, coils on back are hot

first of all are coils clean on back,if not vacuum off and clean if greasy,if that doesn't help, then feel the top of compressor if thats hot to the touch then its probably low on refrigerant, also make sure both ref and freezer evaporator fans are turning when unit is operating

Leave to cool in the area of refigerador

If there is frost on tube going to compressor, either there is to much charge gas if recently recharged or the freezer is not defrosting as it should and needs to repaired. This usually follows with the freezer not freezing food correctly. If so the defrost timer or defrost heater coils are at fault. The timer is under the unit, the heater coils are attached to the freezer section evaporator coils which heat during the defrost cycle to thaw out the coils completely. Unplug the unit and let it defrost completely and the plug it in and see if the problem returns in the first day. If not, but returns after a day or two, then the problem is in the defrost circuit. This is not hard to figure out if you can use a volt ohm meter, but should be done by a technician since getting into the panels can be tricky....
