My tv screen is zoomed in how to zoom out - Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-34XBR800 34" TV

Your TV remote control (not the cable box remote control) would have to have a button that would allow the changing of the TV screen sizes. My Sony TV control has a button called, ' wide', and when pressed will change my screen to either, full, wide zoom, and zoom. Only zoom gets rid of the black bars on my TV. If no button, than the screen size will be determined by the broadcaster.

On the picture menu, you can select between 16:9, 4:3, zoom 1, zoom 2, etc. Depending on the station you are watching and whether or not it is an HD station, selecting zoom 1 or zoom 2 on your TV remote might give you full screen. Otherwise, on some DISH remotes there is a format or zoom button that will also change the size of the picture.

If the image on screen is zoomed both in vertical and horizontal direction, your TVs power regulator inside it is faulty. [Overvoltage]. If it is zoomed in vertical direction only, that is only the height of the picture is zoomed, you can adjust it with the remote control button directly on going through menu and get in to the function menu. Normally all TV remote has a special button marked as "Zoom" which on pressing it once the picture get zoomed, again another press the picture gets wide and again an another press picture will come to normal mode. You should select normal mode to retify the problem.

Look at your remote or On-screen menus for ratio settings. The remote might say zoom or ratio. The menus will probably have it under video and then Aspect Ratio. You'll probably need to hit go through several settings to get to the correct ratio. (some choices are 4:3, 16:9, Full-screen - the best choice depends on the set and the source video)

(my remote (slightly different TV) has the zoom just above mute so I hit the wrong button often.)

Use the Picture, Zoom, or Aspect button on the TV remote to cycle through the available screen sizes. You may also be able to set screen size in a Setup-Picture (or Video) menu.

Did you try to zoom out?

When you zoom in, your TV removes some portion from the edges of the picture and shows the rest full-screen.

there may not be a zoom option but there should be a ratio setting i.e 16x9,4.3 letter box i had that problem and found it in my display settings my screen resolution was changed to 16x9 zoom

with remote control use Zoom boton, or enter to menu and seek for this option.

The left and right arrows on the RCA remote control are the picture format buttons.....

Go into the menu and set the 4:3 default either on or off i think it should be off
