Slide caught in Argus 500 projector. Magazine/cartridge cannot move forward or back. Lever is all the way out and slide can be seen in crack bet magazine and body of projector. Help!! thanks, Anna

I was able to just push the whole slide tray out from the body, including the metal track that holds the slide in place inside the machine, by pushing against the metal frame on the opposite side from the slide magazine Then I pressed down on a flexible metal band on top of where the slide was stuck and slid the slide out.

Magazine tube follower? Is it contained in the magazine tube?

The magazine tubes that I am familiar with had a sort of tube within a tube. (Old Winchester .22 pump)
To load you would push in, twist, and pull out the Inner tube, slide in a bunch of .22 long rifle shells (pointy end in the same direction as the muzzle), and then push the Inner tube back in place. Ther was an internal spring with a sliding cover that provided the "push" to move the shells into the loading mechanism when the pump was cycled.
If one of these parts has a technical name, Magazine tube follower sounds like it would be appropriate.
Hope this helps.

Hi jag xjs 1993 cd cassette wont eject as no 6 stuck in any hints on how to eject the casestte?

you would have to take the to off of the changer. If you can do that, on top of the cd mechanism is a large gear which slides the trays in and out of the magazine, If you can, move the gear so the tray slides back into the magazine. The changer will probably work once that gear is freed.

I bought a used Elmo TRV-35H 35mm projector. The camera works fine, but the tray only moves in reverse when I press the forward or reverse button. And after moving through a few slides it then moves...

Remember, mains voltages exist within the projector and thus the unit MUST be disconnected from the supply line whilst carrying out any servicing.

The reported fault sounds like sluggish operation of the advance/reverse mechanism. Lubricants used in the past tend to age and dry out so that the mechanism doesn't function correctly. IF YOU ARE CONFIDENT TO DO SO, remove the top of the unit and locate the slide mechanism. Carefully clean with cotton buds dipped in pure electronic cleaner and then re lubricate, using an oil dripper with the finest industrial sewing machine oil - emphasis is on a 'drip' of oil on the moving pivot points. Put the top back on and try again.

Problems with remote controllers are suually associated with tarnished contacts either in the hand unit or the projector. Once again, the contacts can be carefully cleaned and all should be well once more.

If you are using Kodak Carousel magazines, make sure you are using the correct magazine for your slides - cardboard or glass mounts. Don't mix slides in a magazine, as this can also cause problems.

We actually have a kodak 600 carousel projector that will not advance the slides. there is a white "arm" that doesn't move right. Is there a small screw that should be attached?

Given the age of your Carousel Slide Projector, my guess is there is a broken "link" in the slide change mechanism. This "link" is plastic, and connects the cycle solenoid to the slide change mechanism. Over time, the "link" gets brittle & breaks, giving the failure condition you describe. You should consult an Authorized Repair Dealer to see if they can still get parts for your projector, which was built between 1964 and 1972. Best of luck !!

The magazine wouldn't eject which i'm told is due to a weak or dirty belt or gearing. I have a temporary solutuion for this (which is to undo the top of the frame inside the caring which releases the...

Hi
Open top cover, if the empty magazine was left inside the cd trays it can slide out into the playing area and jam the unit, check it like that anyhow. Sometimes you can see a small metal tab to release the magazine.

However Error1 means Battery inside CD Changer needs to be replaced.
And NO CD.CD error message means No CD in magazine or no magazine in CD Changer.

To fix the problem, disconnect the CD changer.
take off the top plastic slide cover,
with a small screwdriver slowly move the gearing so that the CD disc holder will move back to the load - unload position.
Pop out the CD holder.
Replace unit, reconnect the optic and power lead, switch on radio and the unit will work again.
grease the moving parts with light lubricant.

By the sounds of your description, your projector needs an adjustment to the slide change mechanism. This is best done by a factory-trained dealer, who has the service manual. Sorry I can't be of more help. Happy New Year!

Wurlitzer 3600 series

The microswitch at the base of the gripper arm is what enables the scan motor when the gripper is over the carousel. You will probably find that the small lever on the base of the tone arm is not clicking the microswitch properly.
