Tray 2 paper senor not sensing the paper either it may dusty, failed or sensor flag mis placed.. verify where is the fault..Location: remove tray2 cassette, under you can observe the paper sensing flag..
Becouse the tray configured in the printer is tray #1 so it serching the paper on tray 1 first you can set it the default tray by the menu on top of the printer.
Hi, check throughout the printer for small pieces of paper stuck, broken sensors etc, clean the rollers in the paper tray 2, check for wear. clean the registration rollers (under a metal flap under the print cartridge) do not clean the transfer roller (the spongey roller sitting under the drum!)
Do NOT use customized paper. Set your paper tray to LEGAL paper. Set the tray as LEGAL in the printers setup-menu. Make sure you choose LEGAL in the printout-dialog-properties. Then it should work. Good Luck.
Please print a configuration page from the control panel of the printer
- Menu > Information menu > print configuration.
- Check for paper handling details.
Following setting should reflect.
Tray 1: Any size / Any Type
Tray 2: A4 size / Plain Type
If the above settings are not reflecting in the configuration page, please change accordingly by browsing on the control panel of the printer to:
Paper Handling Menu >
Tray 1 Size: Any
Tray 1 Type: Any
Tray 2 Size: A4
Tray 2 Type: Plain
Print a configuration page from the menu. Look at the tray set-ups. Sounds like you have tray 1 set to casette. Change it to "first" and the size to "any". The printer will then pull paper from tray 1 any time you put something there.
1) Your paper tray may be too full, makes it heavy to lift and not enough pressure for the pick up roller.
2) Pick up roller is slippery, wipe it clean with alcohol to make it abbrasive.
