How did you possibly remove the bios and cmos? When a computer tries to start like that, often it is the power supply that is faulty. I have changed many power supplies that seem to work OK but when you check them with a tester, one of the voltages is not working - usually the 5 volts. Sometimes the lights on the front of the computer come on, but nothing else happens. Take it to a shop and have them test it, it is a simple plug they put on the wires to see if the power supply is working properly.

SOURCE: my pc will only start for a couple of secounds the

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?
hope this helps

How can I tell if my power supply is bad?

Switch the machine off and leave it unplugged from the mains for 5 minutes, while it is unplugged press the power on button a couple of times. (This will make sure all of the logic in the tower is reset, ) Then turn it on again. The only way to test a power supply is with a multimeter or a PSU tester, the second one is easier and cheaper. (about 5 to 10 GBP)

Not accepting a disk, acts like there is another disk in there

Hold the "Eject" button for ten seconds and try it. Oh and if you have a 40 gb model (2 USB ports) and the Eject button dosent work then try this, Turn off the back of the PS3 (Main power switch) and then hold the eject button (while the main power is off) keep your finger pressed on the eject button flick on the main power switch and it should sound like some HUGE fan don't get scared, wait until the fan stops turn off your ps3, start it up and insert the disk and IT SHOULD WORK

RE: Carrier Unit Central

Try first cutting system power for a couple of minutes, even from main. With some luck it can be enough to reset the system, as it looks like a problem with the control board. The control board has also a coin battery and a reset bridge on it , but to access them you need to take apart control unit. Try fist turning off main power switch for 5 minutes or so.
